Retro games

[edit]

Thank you for working on articles about retro video games. I have added a number of games to the Requested articles page based on the games listed on the articles for the publishers. If any of these stand out to you that would be interested in, if you can find enough sources for any of them then you can start them:

Strategic Simulations

Origin Systems

Avalon Hill

Adventure International

Big Five Software

Broderbund

Automated Simulations/Epyx

Datamost

Muse Software

Paragon Software

Sir-Tech

Sirius Software

Strategic Studies Group

Synapse Software

I know that's a long list, sorry, I didn't realize it would be that long when I decided to post it - just work wherever you are most interested, and if you happen to hit up anything on this list then that's great! 98.32.192.121 (talk) 06:01, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Griggorio2, I noticed that you created this article about a game I remember enjoying as a kid on Apple][+. I just wanted to share some notes I previously accumulated about it when I thought about writing an article (but didn't think they were enough to demonstrate notability at the time), in case you think some of them could also be useful in the article. Thanks for writing it, —PaleoNeonate09:23, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, that's a lot of good sources. Loved the game too, Griggorio2 (talk) 11:22, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about the wait

[edit]

Hi, Griggorio2. I know it's been three weeks, so sorry about the wait, but I looked over your article Cohen's Towers, and I'm going to go ahead and mark it as reviewed. This means that I've done a little bit of surface-level work to improve it, assessed it as suitable for the mainspace, and released it for index by search engines.

I'll note that, while I think your fair use rationale for the mistake music holds, I'm not sure if it abides by the first rule of thumb in WP:SAMPLE, and it seems to be above the recommended bitrate. Nevertheless, between it having a reasonable fair use rationale, being only five seconds long, using a negligibly higher bitrate for an inherently low-bit-depth sound sample, and being a file separate from the article itself, I don't see it as an obstacle to the article itself being approved.

I know this isn't your first article, but I wanted to thank you for contributing to growing the mainspace and preserving video game history while providing a valuable resource for Wikipedia's readers. Cheers. TheTechnician27 (Talk page) 01:19, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Went ahead and approved O'Riley's Mine as well. TheTechnician27 (Talk page) 03:18, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot. Griggorio2 (talk) 10:07, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled granted

[edit]

Hi Griggorio2, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! – Muboshgu (talk) 21:06, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
