Speedy deletion nomination of Centeredge software
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Centeredge software requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. JoelWhy (talk) 16:53, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
Help request
[edit]This help request has been answered. If you need more help or have additional questions, please replace the code {{Help me-helped}} on this page with {{Help me}}, or contact the responding user(s) directly on their own user talk page. |
After beginning the process of creating an article for a widely used software package (I operate a Family Entertainment Center that uses this software), I went out for lunch. Upon returning, I find that it has been marked as a candidate for speedy deletion and subsequently deleted.
I realize that the article was lacking a lot, but it was a work in process. I realize now that I should have created the article in my sandbox, finished adding content and then publish it. Can someone please userfy the article for me so that I can more fully build the article in my sandbox before re-launching it? Or point me in the direction I need to move in?
I love Wikipedia and am very excited about writing my first article, but obviously I have a lot to learn. Thanks.
- I have moved this down - new additions to a talk page normally go at the bottom.
- I have "userfied" your article - restored it and moved it into your user space at User:Greyb1/Centeredge software where you can work on it. If in future you want to start an article, a good way is to go to Help:Userspace draft and fill in the title - that will set you up a draft page like this.
- I will add below this a Welcome message with useful links to tell you more about Wikipedia. A good page to read before going on with your draft is WP:Your first article. In order to avoid speedy deletion, an article need only make a "credible claim of importance or significance", but if it is to be kept in the longer term it needs to establish WP:Notability, which is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." The point is that Wikipedia does not expect to have articles about every company, any more than about every person or every building: the notability test is, have people unconnected with the subject thought it important and significant enough to write substantial comment about? More detail at WP:42, WP:Notability (organizations and companies), and the WP:FAQ/Organizations.
- A technical note: Categories need to be disabled while a draft is in user space, so I have "commented them out" by putting <!-- --> markers round them.
