Re:DotA 2 Competitive Gaming[edit]

No, I respect the source and its content. The only issue is that this source will be questioned once the Dota 2 article comes under review for becoming a Featured Article. The reason for this being that there is no Wikipedia page for the website that published said article, so it's going to be debatable whether or not it is valid, simply because of that. However, if you have enough time and third-party citations that may support the integrity of the publisher so that it can stand on its own without being deleted, then by all means, we can do that. The only question is what other neutral editors will consider when evaluating the page, that's all. So, I'm not deleting your edit, but marking it, so we can either find another source that says the same thing, or else the creation of a page that supports its validity as a reliable source. Okay, I've worked out a detail that should address your invaluable contribution to the Dota 2 article, Grenton. SK Gaming has published an article that relays the exact information that you had created with your PGT article, which will work, considering that SK has been previously deemed a reliable source years back. If you would so favor, we could still pursue getting an article about PGT up on Wikipedia, but you will need reliable links to back it up and justify its significance. Since you're new, I'd like to fill you in on the scrutiny that entails editing here. Probably half the articles produced on Wikipedia are deleted speedily, as comments about reaching the site's standards are thrown in at every turn, so make sure you have your ducks in a row! Take, for example, the new article about Patrik Lindberg. This is the undisputed best FPS player in the world, but it was brought up on Speedy Deletion, even with reliable sources. It stayed, but that just shows it takes a lot to earn a spot on Wikipedia. So, be ready. DarthBotto talkcont 13:57, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
