Brian Wilson

[edit]

Hi Green Kit Kat

A few hours just removed a large chunk of material on Brian Wilson, which you had added to Green Party in Northern Ireland and to Talk:Green Party in Northern Ireland. I have just similarly removed large chunk on GPNI co-chair John Barry.

Both of these people already have separate articles (see John Barry (politician) Brian Wilson (Northern Ireland politician)), and it is not appropriate to duplicate the content in the article on their party.

May I also remind you of two of wikipedia's policiy of neutrality? Wikipedia article should be written from neutral point-view, not from the perspective of a green party supporter.

It is also important that material should be referenced to reliable source, particularly when it involves living persons.

Thanks! --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 19:14, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, As BrownHairedGirl says, we generally don't duplicate content of other articles. If people reading the Green Party article wish to know about Wilson, they can follow the redirect to the article on him. Generally, any new info about him should be added to his article, but please keep in mind what BHG says above about reliable third party sources. how to resolve concerns

[edit]

I am undating information on the Green Party in Northern IReland site it has several warnings posted on top of the page How do i go about sorting out these concerns

k

Hi, I have just made a major edit to the article, removing an lot of content and reorganising the rest.
Before making any further edits of the article, please stop and carefully read some of wikipedia's policies and guidelines -- I posted the links above.
This is an encyclopedia, not a Green Party website. For verifibaility, articles must be referenced to reliable sources (see citing sources), and it is not appropriate to use an article on a party to add large quantities of unreferenced detail on local councillors who do not meet wikipedia's notability guidelines for politicians.
Please stop adding more material, and start adding references for what's already there.
I am also concerned that some basic facts asserted in the article appear to be wrong, or at least incomplete. So far as I was aware, the Green Party in Northern Ireland was founded in 1981 or 1982 as the Ecology Part of Northern Ireland, by Malcolm Samuelson and Peter Emerson, but there is no mention of this in the article. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 14:17, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
