Welcome!

Hello, Greemcomics, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for helping us build a great free encyclopedia. We have five basic principles, but other than that, we advise that you be bold and edit. If you ever have any questions or need help, feel free to leave a message at the help desk, and other Wikipedia editors will be happy to assist you.

Thanks again and congratulations on becoming a Wikipedian!

P.S. New discussion threads for you will appear at the bottom of this page.

Hello Greemcomics,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, Dreamtwinz, may be copied from http://www.mtv.com/artists/dreamtwinz/. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 14:10, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for pointing that out, I will surely edit in my own words and read all the copyright rules before editing next time. --Greemcomics (talk) 00:28, 22 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not every song is notable

[edit]

Please read WP:NSONGS before creating any more articles about songs. The one you've already created has been redirected, per WP guidelines, because it doesn't meet the notability criteria. 69.181.253.230 (talk) 21:41, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for that information, I will keep that in mind next time. --Greemcomics (talk) 00:28, 22 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dreamtwinz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://dreamtwinz.blogspot.com/2012/09/dreamtwinz-are-number-1-upcoming-pop.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 69.181.253.230 (talk) 21:47, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Greemcomics. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. 69.181.253.230 (talk) 22:03, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

December 2013

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with this edit to Dreamtwinz. Please make your case on the page's talk page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. Josh3580talk/hist 22:54, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for noting that out, I won't remove the speed deletion notice in future, it was a mistake but atleast now I have read most of the rules and guidelines in order to avoid such mistakes. Thank you. --Greemcomics (talk) 00:29, 22 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes you have made a mistake, an email was sent to wikipedia from the copyright owner to donate the text content with accondance to the rules, the template {{OTRS pending}} was placed on the article's talk page showing that it was pending approval, so you should have waited first before deleting both the article and talk page! --Greemcomics (talk) 02:57, 23 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
