User talk:Grbrumder
Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, Grbrumder! I am Calaka and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

- Hey there buddy! Glad you are liking the place. It can be quite daunting for some people at the start having so many rules and regulations. Oh and as for the signature thing, no that is only for talk pages where you have to sign. There is no need to sign your name on the article space so you did nothing wrong. But it doesn't hurt to have the reminder up there hehe.
- Now re the article you made: I am no expert but I would suggest you recommend the article over to WP:DYK (meaning I think the article is very well done!). It gives people the chance that made new articles to publish their work on the main page (make sure you nominate within 5 days). Just read the rules of the DYK process and once you have made sure that page allows it, nominate it and you will be on the road to making many articles. If you are interested in making more that is! :) If you have any more questions do not hesitate to ask. Kind regardsCalaka (talk) 22:02, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- Go for it on DYK! It looks like it's written by someone who's done several articles. Just make sure you use a fact that is well referenced in the article. I like either how he owned the Red Sox for their first pennant or the line about the building being the first underground parking in Milwaukee. You'll need to find a reliable source for whatever fact you decide to use (or you could propose both). Let me know if you need help on my talk page. I've done many DYK and certified very many more as a prolific DYK admin. Royalbroil 02:19, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- Re: User_talk:Calaka#DKY. The article can be nominated here: Template_talk:Did_you_know and hopefully you should be able to understand the instructions of how to nominate the page (i.e. what format/style of code to put in) and you place it under September 23rd (the date the article got created). Have a go at nominating it and it would be easy to fix up if you make an error (i.e. add wikilinks or what not) later on as the need arises. But feel free to message me or Royalbroil if you need any more help (we might be in vast different time zones and hence why it took me a while before I replied). Also as Royal mentioned, whatever hook you do end up using, make sure it can be backed up externally. This is especially important since we can't be making up stuff considering numerous readers look up on the facts and would be quick to point out if they are untrue. Kind regards.Calaka (talk) 08:41, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
DYK for George Brumder
[edit]Hi Grbrumder. I spotted your suggested hook at the DYK suggestions page and have made a couple of fixes. Another user moved it from the "Special occasion holding area" at the bottom to the "Candidate entries" section: the latter is where the vast majority of hooks are placed, while the special occasion section is for hooks which the nominator wishes to be displayed on the Main Page on a specific date relevant to the article. One feature that all hooks must have is a bold link to the article's subject, so I've added George Brumder to it ("...George Brumder's Germania Building"). The article itself looks to be in excellent shape. The only minor point to note is that the bare URLs used in some of the references need to be formatted into full references with titles, website publisher info etc. Let me know when you're ready and I can show you how to do this. Hassocks5489 (tickets please!) 18:56, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your e-mail; you've formatted all the URLs correctly, so everything looks great. The link to my talk page, by the way, is via the "(tickets please!)" link after my username. I have customised my signature with a nod towards my railway ticket collecting hobby! Hassocks5489 (tickets please!) 22:25, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Sand point country club
[edit]A tag has been placed on Sand point country club requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 23:27, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

- That seems a strange formulation. Are you aware that Wikipedia accounts may only be used by one person? See WP:NOSHARE. Incidentally, you've experimented with your signature and broken the link to your userpage. You've got "User:User Grbrumder" in it, and you want "User:Grbrumder". Notability tag
[edit]I place the tag on Jake Warga because at the time (it might be different now) there were no third-party references in the article that discussed your subject, a prime requirement of WP:N. See also my remark on User talk:ChildofMidnight#Notable.3F. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 16:34, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

My ZIP code Map

- Look at the end of the ZIP code prefixes article for the sources you need. -- Denelson83 00:54, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
- It's because that first link gives you the list of sectional centre facilities. Remember that sectional centre facilities in one state can service ZIP codes located in another state. Such ZIP code prefixes are marked with a † in the ZIP code prefixes article.
- There is a document out there on the Web that I used to compile the original 3-digit ZIP code lists, but for the life of me, I can't seem to find it. -- Denelson83 04:03, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Pacific Office Automation
[edit]Hello Grbrumder,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Pacific Office Automation for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Deletion discussion about CSI Leasing, Inc.
[edit]Hello, Grbrumder,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether CSI Leasing, Inc. should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/CSI Leasing, Inc. .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks,

Speedy deletion nomination of Tokyo Century Corporation
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Tokyo Century Corporation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. DGG ( talk ) 19:55, 23 January 2018 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for February 15
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tia Carrere, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Richard Lewis (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:02, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
