Speedy deletion of Kerry vincent
[edit]A tag has been placed on Kerry vincent requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - You must include verifiable references to prove the subject is indeed notable in order for an article to qualify for inclusion on Wikipedia. Your claims alone are not enough. See WP:References for more information on how to add references. Ejay (talk) 04:18, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Kerry vincent. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Ejay (talk) 04:13, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Kerry Vincent do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.
- Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
- The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: 'geocities\.com' (link(s): http://au.geocities.com/austsugarcraft/) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thorougly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creators copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
- Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! XLinkBot (talk) 15:52, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Notability of Kerry Vincent
[edit]A tag has been placed on Kerry Vincent requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 23:24, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Your latest edit on Kerry Vincent
[edit]I notice that you reverted my partial clean up of the article back to your previous version. I should point out however that wikipedia has clear guidelines for how to write and edit articles. The content you have reverted it to does not conform to those guidelines. I would ask you please not to change it back again as the article still needs a lot of work doing on it to bring it up to wikipedia standards. I have removed the "speedy deletion" tag as I hadn't realised it had already been put up for CSD and had been rejected. However, I have also re-instated the other tags you removed. I am presuming good faith with your edits, but you need to be more careful when editing to ensure your edits conform to wikipedia guidelines. These articles might help you - WP:HOW WP:CITE. Just to add that as you are a new user I would be more than happy to help you improve the article and to add correct sources and format it correctly etc, but that would also mean that you don't simply revert the article back to what is an incorrectly formatted article. Thank you.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 00:12, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Hello again. I am sorry but I have had to to revert your latest edit for a number of reasons, including your removing valid tags. Might I suggest that perhaps you have a read of the various articles about how to edit and create articles on wikipedia such as these, before you continue editing the article? WP:HOW and WP:BETTER. There is no huge rush to get things right, taking time to get the article right is the best way to approach it. And as you can see from the articles talk page, users want to encourage your participation on wikipedia, and it would probably be best to have a good read about how wikipedia works, and also ask for advice from other users rather than just ploughing straight in. By all means if you need any advice you can either leave a message below this or on my talk page.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 19:22, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Tangerine, I wish I could hug you -- I can't believe what a fabulous job you are making of my muddle! Gracemcmillan (talk) 22:35, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Hall of Fame citation on ICES website [1]Gracemcmillan (talk) 22:35, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
I think I placed this in the wrong place: (References) -- sorry about that!
Hello, Tangerines! I have more citations to add:
Australian Cake Decorators Association, 12th biannual National Seminar 21 - 26 September 2003, page 37, June 2003 Australian Sugar Craft.
The above supports Vincent's attendance as the lead presenter at the seminar.
Food Network; another citation at TV.com:

Have you had a chance to check the other references? I'd like to post but don't want to make mistakes and cause you more trouble. Could you give some advice -- a lot of absolute references have been proferred. Since some time has passed, I'd like to get them inserted into the body of the article, if that's okay? I realize I've made editorial mistakes; these are bona fide citations and I'm assuming they just need to be placed in the article correctly?
I assume I click on the citation within the body of the article and when the double brackets show up, do I place the citation within those brackets; is that correct?
Thank you so much for all your help; I can't tell you how much I appreciate your kindness.

References
[edit]Hi, maybe you haven't yet had chance to read any of the articles I have linked you to, but the way in which you are adding the references is still not correct. They do not go in the references section as you are doing, they need to go in the main body of the article, using a ref template, at the pooint where the source is verifying the content. Will you please slow down and read how to edit articles, and also take on board the advice being given to you. I will try again to clean up from the edits you just made.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 21:24, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
