Image copyright issues
[edit]Hi Gothbag. Thanks for uploading the screenshots of Star Wars Galaxies. I noticed that you tagged the images with {{pd-self}}, attempting to release them into the public domain. Unfortunately, screenshots are covered by copyright, and the copyright holder is the developer of the program shown. Images can only be released into the public domain by the copyright holder.
Can I ask you to replace the {{pd-self}} tags on those screenshots with {{Non-free game screenshot}}? Thanks! If you have any questions, please let me know. Powers T 12:29, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

- Oh, yes -- when you get a chance, you'll probably want to add a fair-use rationale to each of those images for their usage on the Star Wars Galaxies article. I forgot about that part. =( Powers T 15:24, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Audioslave article
[edit]Hi there!
I am currently working on the improvement of the Audioslave article, now about halfway done, I'm opting to make it a featured article, but that is a lot of work. It isn't visible on the article yet, I haven't saved any changes, I want to save the whole thing once, when it's complete. I'm not from an English speaking country, I'm from Hungary, so I'm not really good in writing, expressing my thoughts in English, or not on that sophisticated level the feature article criteria requires, but I try to do my best. So the reason I'm writing to you is that if you'd like to help me in any way, e.g. finding sources, references, citations, any ideas on how to improve the article, maybe images, you're really welcome! Of course, if you like Audioslave as much as I do and would like to see it as a featured article. The best would be if you could help me with English, the grammar and stuff like that. So if you're interested I can send you the work I've done maybe in e-mail or some way, I don't think it would be good if I copied it to the talk page, it's pretty long and currently I'm just working on it in Microsoft Word. You can check it then and see if you have anything to add or help/correct. So anyways, if you're interested just say so.
Thank you very much in advance. Gocsa 17:33, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hello again!
- I've completed the improvement of the article (Audioslave), now the main concern is the grammar, some copyediting, etc. If you'd like to help or you feel you can help, feel free to edit the article itself, or make your suggestions at the article's peer review page here (the article is also up for a prose review at the Alternative music Wikiproject here). Thanks. Gocsa 20:59, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to 1988 in music. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. --Benhello! 12:09, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- My edits improved the article. Correcting links, adding new necessary links, adding cursive on names that need it and removing things that don't even have an article from a list are not vandalism acts.(Gothbag 12:27, 30 August 2007 (UTC))
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Jaio.Musika.Hil cover.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Jaio.Musika.Hil cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:40, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Charter Arms Bulldog GA Review
[edit]An article you worked on, Charter Arms Bulldog, has been submitted for Good Article Review and placed on hold pending one or more changes. Comments have been left on the talk page of the article including suggested improvements. Please send me a message when or if improvements have been made, and I'll take another look at the article. Good luck in the review process! JKBrooks85 20:43, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- I appreciate the effort. If you can copyedit what you've added for grammar and spelling, I'll sign off on it. I'd doit myself, but it could create a conflict of interest. JKBrooks85 19:22, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- I've been copyediting it as well, but I just don't think it's going to be enough... the article depends heavily on just a few sources, and they're mostly manufacturer-created ones to boot. It's well-cited, but that doesn't do much if the cites aren't impartial. And that's even before we run into the problem that there simply isn't that much content yet. If we could dig up some more independent sources, things like newspaper articles, independent reviewers, or police reports, the article would be in a lot better shape. Without those, I just don't think I can pass it right now. I'll keep cracking away at it, but I'm going to fail it this time around. If you're interested in working on it some more, let me know and I'll run through a couple of copyedits for style and grammar -- right now the code for the article needs a lot of work for clarity purposes. Thanks for your help, and keep up the good work. JKBrooks85 16:53, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Misuse of minor edit flag
[edit]Please remember to mark your edits as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Orphaned non-free media (Image:Bane Spider Commando.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Bane Spider Commando.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 19:44, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

La Vanguardia source
[edit]As this is a current event. A foreign newspaper is difficult for an average WP editor to validate. Likewise foreign language sources are difficult for the majority of en wikipedia users to validate. For major current events such as this, English sources are readily available. Current English source count for the article is 50+ from around the world. --Lemmey (talk) 20:03, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Johann Lohel, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/09331a.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. [edit]I've reviewed the article and left notes on the talk page. I've put the nomination on hold for seven days to allow the issues to be addressed. Feel free to contact me on my talk page, here, or on the article talk page with any concerns, and let me know one of those places when the issues have been addressed. If I may suggest that you strike out, check mark, or otherwise mark the items I've detailed, that will make it possible for me to see what's been addressed, and you can keep track of what's been done and what still needs to be worked on. Lawrenceburg Conf. Monument
[edit]I noticed you started the Lawrenceburg Confederate Monument article. I'm not offended, as anyone can start any article at any time. The reason I hadn't yet was 1) I wanted to get the individual NRHP form for it, and not just the one for the entire MPS, and 2) I wanted a better pic (I blew up a pic we have of the courthouse to get the image). I was curious, however, if you did it out of whim, or if you happened to live nearby. Have a good one.--Bedford Pray 04:28, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

RE: Check any FA album article please
[edit]Yes, they do have reviews and critical reception areas, but the reviews are placed in the infobox. Also, the critical reception area needs to meet wikipedia's standards. By referencing the reviews, you're kind of pushing the neutral point of view standards. Also, about the critical reception areas, those sections should never point out individual reviews.
Also, next time tags are placed on an album, please don't remove them until the problems suggested by the tags are completely fixed.
BTC 21:40, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- All right, thank you. BTC 21:46, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- You tell me not to delete the critical reception area. I will agree to keep the section, then. However, I will still edit that part of the article, since there is one passage that somewhat bothers me still. You have good intentions of adding this stuff, though. Keep up the good work. Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Gothbag! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
