Notability of Greg Nichols

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Greg Nichols, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Violask81976 02:22, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Raven blade sword.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. (ESkog)(Talk) 18:07, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of The Return (Demo)

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article The Return (Demo), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. License tagging for File:Grant Estes.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Grant Estes.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:08, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Jon Nelson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Xtzou (Talk) 21:27, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing maintenance templates without addressing the issues they raise. All articles, and particularly biographies of living persons, need to comply with Wikipedia's policies including:

  • Verifiability, which includes: "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—that is, whether readers are able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether we think it is true."
  • Notability, a requirement to have a Wikipedia article, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and press releases.

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Jon Nelson. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. As the author, you may not remove the speedy deletion tag. OlYellerTalktome 15:41, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Gordo. You may have noticed the tag at the top of the page. It's basically saying that there's a discussion going on about whether or not to deleted the article that you have created. The responses there may help you understand why specific edits are being made. You may also want to comment there about the article but please keep in mind that it's not a place for your opinions about the subject but rather a place to discuss why or why not the subject is notable by linking specific policies and guidelines. A link to the discussion can be found in the tag. OlYellerTalktome 19:08, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is an RfC on the Talk page which reached the consensus that the photo you just added (which has been added and removed a number of times) is not appropriate for the article. -- Boing! said Zebedee 23:54, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Woman on top (sex position). Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please stop adding that image, which goes against the consensus on the Talk page - Wikipedia works by consensus, which you cannot just personally decide to ignore -- Boing! said Zebedee 20:22, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Jon Nelson has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. (talk) 06:17, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I reverted your recent edit to this article because you did not provide a reliable source verifying "speed metal" as a genre for this album. If you're wondering why "thrash metal" was kept, it is cited in the article's reception section. Please cite a source if you plan on restoring your addition to the article. Thank you!
