Talk to me
Show some pity
You touch me in many, many ways
But I'm shy, can't you see?

Hello. You have reverted what you thought to be vandalism on the David Draiman article. However, it is not vandalism. See the talk page for more information (where my source is given).

I did check the talk page before i edited, and that is no source. I can't say i know for sure, but it's the first time i heard of something like that. Since you can't deny that homosexuality in this world is still used as an insult for some trivial reasons, you do need to bring a reliable source before i let an info like that pass. ~ | twsx | talkcont | 14:47, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The interview is sufficient proof. I have the magazine on my desk right beside me and Draiman clearly points out that he is homosexual. The article doesn't belong to you. Metal Edge magazine wouldn't make an insult on Draiman since they are very much interested in Alternative Metal bands like Disturbed, System Of A Down, Slipknot... Why shouldn't this part be added into the article? It's not used as an insult, and it's definitely not attacking Draiman's image (except if you look at this from a homophobic point of view). I am putting back the statement.

Goodtones

A source that is not viewable for anybody i no source. I will gladly accept such a statement once you can show a reference. You also seem to not really have understood what i said about homosexuality and it being a potential insult. PS: You should sign your posts propery. ~ | twsx | talkcont | 23:01, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I posted the quote on the talk page. If all unsourced content was to be removed from the article, then the article should be blank. If you cannot accept the fact that Draiman is gay, then maybe you are taking this too personally. I will try to look for a source, but until then, I am putting back the statement for there is no reason to take it off the article. Goodtones 09:09, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes there is. As long as you can't supply any reference at all, i have to assume you are using this statement as a derogative term. I think i made my point clear. I have no problem with reverting your edits multiple times a day, if you do, you might want to seek council and settelment at WP:3 and WP:RFC. While i do know that i am breaking policies just like you do, i do hope that other parties will side with my point of view. ~ | twsx | talkcont | 15:11, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am not trying to cause any conflict. You are telling me that I am using this as a derogative term, however I am myself gay and fan of Disturbed. There is no logical reason for me to attack Draiman's image. I should also remind you to assume good faith. I gave a source on the talk page that clearly establishes Draiman's homosexuality. I think it is a very important fact about Draiman and that ommiting it would be a mistake (for people generally tend to consider heterosexuality as normal). The entire article has no references, so why erase only this particular sentence? I think you are taking this personally (I have seen that you are also a Disturbed fan) and that you do not accept the fact that Draiman is gay. Could this end before it goes to further authorities? Goodtones 16:02, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It can. Provide a source i can follow, and i will be glad to accept the statement. It is just something i can't believe before i know for sure, as it totally does not seem to fit in after seing Draiman for many years. I would also like to note that i do not take any offense if you ask for a third opinion. And i don't take it "personally", i am 100% LGBT friendly, with a little small tiny but not mean recoil on the "T"-ones. ~ | twsx | talkcont | 16:11, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am new here and created an account specifically for this reason. I would not normally have a problem with this post of the assumed sexual preference of any musician. But, I know one of Mr. Draiman's relatives and I can honestly say that the man is not gay. I don't believe him to be "homophobic". Nor do I believe that this post will have any effect, what so ever, on his image. But, Mr. Draiman is very openly straight. He has said on many live performances and interviews recently that he is now commited to a lady. And I've seen her and she is very beautiful and very feminine. Now, I do believe that these falsities need to be removed before any other maliciousness befalls anyone involved.

I have just one more thing to add to this disscussion....read this article done by Playboy Mag. This should put everything right...He clearly states his sexual preference numerous times in it. Unless this is just a publicity stunt. Which, come on people, Metal Edge would have been as well.
