Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Goodstartearlylearning, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited was ABC Learning, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! You can also just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! 220 of Borg 20:18, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of content

[edit]

Hello, I'm 220 of Borg. I noticed that you recently removed some content from ABC Learning without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. The removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. 220 of Borg 20:24, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The removed content has not been restored yet, as some of your edit (tense changes) seem needed, but removing references and entire paragraphs without explanation is not. Perhaps this page needs to be restored/edited so it is only about ABC Learning (it seems to have been partly turned into a page about Goodstart Early Learning) and a page on just Goodstart begun. You could do this, see wp:Your first article, though conflict of interest means it is probably not a good idea. - 220 of Borg 20:49, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have now restored what I thought was needed, while keeping your tense edits. See here. More work needed, regards, 220 of Borg 21:20, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Summaries

[edit]

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you. - 220 of Borg 20:49, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
