How to reply on Talk pages
[edit]Hi, Goodlucklemonpig. This is regarding your difficulty yesterday in replying below the previous comments at the CB Talk page. If you don't see a "reply" button, just go up to the nearest heading and click on [edit] and then edit at the bottom of the section. "Copy" your response before you hit publish, in case there is an edit conflict, in which case, just exit (back arrow) go back to the heading, then [edit] again and paste your new content at the bottom of the section. Also, please try to keep Talk page comments as concise as possible (I know this can be hard sometimes), to focus the discussion and let others catch up. It may help to think in terms of making actionable suggestions that you think have a chance of being used, rather than just talking through the possibilities. For more tips, see WP:TALK#USE. BTW, to get more perspective on good WP editorial practice, take a look at some WP:Featured articles. -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:46, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hi! Thanks so much for the tech support, and a second thanks for the talk page tip. I can go a bit overboard in real life as well, and I guess it translates to Talk pages haha! I'll definitely try and curb my inborn instinct to talk too much :) Goodlucklemonpig (talk) 18:02, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
- Sometimes it is good to brainstorm, though, especially where others seem short on ideas for needed content! Happy editing! -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:08, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
Things sourced to the subject: WP:ABOUTSELF
[edit]You asked on the Colleen Ballinger talk page how to verify things that Ballinger says about herself or her own content in her own content. WP:ABOUTSELF says that you can source things about the subject to the subject's own publications/online content under certain circumstances, which are listed there. Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 03:15, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
