Kemari etc. page moves

[edit]

Hi — why have you moved a number of articles from Kemari to Keamari etc.? If that latter is an alternative rendering of the name, you could have just created redirects. If you're saying that that's the only or at least the most correct rendering, then I think you ought to discuss this on the various talk pages first, because many of those articles have been there for several years, and therefore there seems to be at least implied consensus that the naming was correct. Besides, the article contents still use the Kemari version of the name, which is now inconsistent with the article title. Best, --DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:43, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Chaman District

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Chaman District. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Chaman. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Chaman. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Brascoian (talk to me) 15:38, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Alang Ship Recycling Yard moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Alang Ship Recycling Yard, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. In particular talk about where this place is. You should be able to get some references from the city's article. MPGuy2824 (talk) 07:35, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Usedtobecool ☎️ 17:13, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you making multiple duplicates of one article? WP:REDIRECTS serve the same function. You don't need to copy the article to every title, certainly not without attribution. Usedtobecool ☎️ 17:15, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop

[edit]

Your multiple page moves (including the one of Acre, which had been in place for over a decade) are becoming disruptive. Stop. Discuss with other editors. Some of them are plain wrong (introducing completely unnecessary disambiguation and changing the name of a page to become a lot broader than what the article is about). Sdrqaz (talk) 13:15, 24 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:Requested moves, especially: The discussion process is used [if] someone could reasonably disagree with the move. I recommend that you do not boldly move any more pages. Instead, please follow the process here to move a page by consensus. Certes (talk) 10:50, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to move pages to bad titles contrary to naming conventions or consensus, you may be blocked from editing. Gotitbro (talk) 03:12, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you have now moved Alfred Dunhill Ltd. to Alfred Dunhill Limited. Wikipedia:Naming conventions (companies) says that If the legal status is used to disambiguate, it should be included in the article title using the company's own preference for either the abbreviated or unabbreviated form. dunhill.com uses the abbreviation "Ltd.". No one expects every new editor to memorise such guidelines. (I had to look it up after 14 years here). We do expect you to use the Requested Move process whenever the best title is unclear, especially after having so many moves reverted. Certes (talk) 09:58, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lack of communication and continued controversial page moves

[edit]

Goddess Helvetica, you are still ignoring everyone's concerns, and have continued with your page moves. Despite Certes informing you about how your move of Alfred Dunhill was against the companies naming convention, you didn't revert your move.

Today, you have blanked a redirect and moved it, on both occasions not saying why either. You also moved a page to have its former name in brackets for no apparent reason. Stop. This behaviour will result in a block, because communication is required on Wikipedia. Sdrqaz (talk) 15:41, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have provided the reason in the summary say "Bayes Business School (formerly Cass): Refer https://www.bayes.city.ac.uk/about". The provided reference refer to the official website stating the name as it is communicated, in order to connect it to previous name. Goddess Helvetica — Preceding unsigned comment added by Goddess Helvetica (talkcontribs) 04:40, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for engaging. I really appreciate it. There wasn't anything wrong with the initial move to "Bayes Business School" (apart from the fact it was a little too early), but you don't need to put the former name in brackets like that. Just "Bayes Business School" was fine. That's because people looking for "Cass Business School" will be redirected to the current page title. Sdrqaz (talk) 22:52, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I now stop moving pages. Please advise on renaming/moving of https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Schmolz_%2B_Bickenbach this article. Goddess Helvetica — Preceding unsigned comment added by Goddess Helvetica (talkcontribs) 05:49, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If you feel that Schmolz + Bickenbach should be moved, please add a requested move section to its talk page, suggesting a new title and why you feel it would be an improvement. Certes (talk) 09:21, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
