Thomas's Peer Review

[edit]

The article in question explains lots of different topics related to organic foods such as, what are organic foods, how are foods determined organic, as well as the benefits. All the current information seems relevant to the topic. I found the topics relating to how produce is labeled (what makes a food earn the organic label) to be very interesting and think expansion on this would do good for the article. While the article is about organic food, I believe you should also expand on the differences between organic food, and GMO's as I think its a hot topic now and many people would like to see such information. Studies comparing the two in different ways would be a great addition to this article. While this article had a lot of useful information, I found that it felt a bit unorganized in its current structure. I believe a way to make this article much more readable is to split it into a few different sections such as one to explain the benefits of organic farming with another discussing the debate between organic and GMO products, etcetera. Although I thought you did a good job at keeping the animal and plant aspects of the article pretty organized by not going back and forth between them. Overall I felt the article came off a little bit in support of organic foods instead of being truly neutral, but not to an extreme extent. I felt this way because of the use of "a great benefit" multiple times, instead of just stating the benefit in a more matter of fact way. Another reason I felt this way is because information provided tended to focus on positive aspects of organic farming as well. The sources used seem reliable and up to date, but I had an issue opening resource [1].It appears to be missing the link. The sources were also cited at appropriate times throughout the article. Overall the article provided a lot of useful information from decent sources, a few of which being government websites, but felt a little unorganized and written slightly in a favorable light. Good luck on your article! - Thomas Leonard96 (talk) 20:12, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
