I've removed your G12 request from this article as it's not a copyright violation. Works of the US federal government are automatically in the public domain - see Wikipedia:Public domain#U.S. government works. I have now also attributed the source properly and removed the BLPprod tag as the page it was copied from is a reliable source. The article still has many problems however. Guild of Copy Editors November 2011 backlog elimination drive update
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors November 2011 Backlog elimination drive! Here's the mid-drive newsletter. Participation: We have had 46 people sign up for this drive so far, and 28 have copy edited at least one article. If you have signed up but have not yet copy edited any articles, please consider doing so. Every bit helps! If you haven't joined, it's not too late. Join us! Progress report: We are making great progress in our goal of clearing out the oldest articles (April, May, and June 2010) from the queue. There are 122 articles left in those categories, which compares very favorably with the 281 that were present at the close of the September drive. We have reduced the 2010 backlog by 184 articles so far. Coordinator elections: The term of our second tranche of coordinators will be running out at the end of the year, and we will be accepting nominations for new coordinators early in December. The election will likely run in the last two weeks of December. Please consider helping out by nominating yourself or someone else in the Guild as one of our coordinators. The commitment is for a six-month term. Thanks. Your drive coordinators – Diannaa, Chaosdruid, The Utahraptor, Slon02 and SMasters |

Otis Redding
hello,
is it possible that you upload a bigger photo of File:Otis Redding.jpg? I think you directly downloaded it from [1] but you didn't click on it [2]. If yes, can you upload the latter? Thanks.--♫GoP♫TCN 11:57, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
- Sure thing. Gobonobo T C 20:08, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
- Can you take a second look at Talk:Otis Redding/GA1? There are still issues with the main picture. Thanks.--♫GoP♫TCN 16:58, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
- You bet. I left a response there. Gobonobo T C 04:39, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
- If yes, can you upload the third picture? It is really iconic. Thanks.--♫GoP♫TCN 17:09, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
- I think that the third photo is the same as File:RSObit.jpg and this getty image which some editors may interpret as failing WP:NFCC#2. Gobonobo T C 04:39, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, yes, correct. Have you access to GettyImages? Or do you know someone who have access?--♫GoP♫TCN 13:07, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
- Anyone has "access" to Getty, but we usually don't use their images, since it is viewed as a violation of WP:NFCC#2. It's probably best to consider any image from there as more or less forbidden. Gobonobo T C 03:36, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
- But you need to register to contact them, eg asking if the file can be used on Wikipedia. I don't know if it's free or not. Nevermind, I thought we could upload a pic into the ""(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay" and death" section. Maybe the idea to upload Rifleman Redding wasn't that bad, as he often went hunting, especially after he underwent surgery :P. I don't know if that is important (I can't say as a big fan :/) but maybe you can ask them if we can upload one of their pics. What do you mean?--♫GoP♫TCN 13:09, 6 November 2011 (UTC)

- I never received a response from Otisredding.com. Based on my exchange with the journalist, I believe the image is from the Georgia Music Hall of Fame exhibit, likely belonging to Zelma Redding. Oh, and thank you for following up at the help desk, I think I may just need to download a more complete font set. Gobonobo T C 18:07, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

A cup of tea for you!
Sorry for removing the image you added to the ISO 3103 article. However this method of brewing tea is quite odd and uses a very specific pot for doing so. A photo of it would be great, but in its absence a photo of the wrong sort of pot (and a tetsubin is specifically the wrong material) is more misleading than helpful.

Central Bank of Sri Lanka
Hi, I saw you calling the Diginerd84 edit to this article an "innocuous edit". [3] You are basically right, of course, but consider this: The edit happened on 26 February, a mere 2 days after User:AnjaliLK10 (talk · contribs) (another obvious Bell Pottinger account, although not blocked yet) had created the article Ajith Nivard Cabraal, which was linked in the edit. I think this deserves a different description, maybe "legitimate edit"? Hans Adler 19:16, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- I changed it to "minor". As the edit was clearly part of the larger and nefarious agenda, innocuous was perhaps less than apt. Gobonobo T C 10:25, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

Guild of Copy Editors November 2011 backlog elimination drive report
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors November 2011 Backlog elimination drive! We would like to thank all who participated in this drive. Here is the end-of-drive report.
There were 48 editors who signed-up for this drive, of which 35 participated. Thank you to everyone who helped reduce the size of the backlog!
During the drive, we reduced the backlog by 232 articles, or by about 6%. This is a two percent increase from our September drive, when we copy edited 4% of the backlog. We were successful in our primary goal of clearing the oldest three months—March, April, and May 2010—from the queue. Thanks to all who helped copy edit these difficult articles. Thus far we have reduced the copy edit backlog by 5086 articles, or by about 61%. End-of-drive results and barnstar information can be found here.
The term of our second tranche of coordinators has run out, and we will be accepting nominations from December 5, 00:01 UTC to December 15, 23:59 UTC. If you or any other member of the Guild of Copy Editors wishes to be a coordinator, add your name to this page along with a statement describing why you believe you should be a coordinator for the Guild. You must be able to commit to a six month term. Thanks! Once again, thank you for participating in the Guild's November 2011 Backlog elimination drive! Our next drive will be in January, and we hope to see you there! Your drive coordinators – Diannaa, Chaosdruid, The Utahraptor, Slon02 and SMasters |

Red links to armoured fighting vehicles
Hi, I've just reverted your removal of references to a couple of AFVs in these edits: [4], [5], [6]. While the articles may have been deleted as unsavable spam, the vehicles do actually exist and are notable so the red links were fine. Nick-D (talk) 04:42, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your interest in improving the article Nureongi! Chrisrus (talk) 05:24, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
- It was just a drive-by assessment, though I did look (unsuccessfully) for an image to use in the article. Probably a good candidate for a GA. Gobonobo T C 21:32, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks again, I'll work on it later this month. Hey, by the way, why is it of low importance? I personally feel it is very important because the welfare of these livestock animals is one of the lowest in the world, from what I've seen, and there is very little out there in English to get the word out about it, and much denial about it. I think improving the article might be very important. Is there a way to raise the importance of that article? Thanks again! Chrisrus (talk) 22:05, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
- It was only assessed low importance for the Agriculture/Livestock project, but I see how that project's importance scale could support a higher status, so I went ahead and changed it to mid-level. You're welcome to assess articles or change other's assessments yourself. Of course, personal preference and promotion shouldn't play a role in assessments, but thankfully most WikiProjects have instructions on how to go about it. Cheers, Gobonobo T C 00:09, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Welcome to the 2012 WikiCup
Hello, and welcome to the 2012 WikiCup! The competition officially begins at the start of 2012 (UTC) after which time you may begin to claim points. Your submission page, where you must note any content for which you wish to claim points, can be found here, and formatting instructions can be found in hidden comments on the page. A bot will then update the main table, which can be seen on the WikiCup page. The full rules for what will and will not be awarded points can be found at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring. There's also a section on that page listing the changes that have been made to the rules this year, so that experienced participants can get up-to-date in a few seconds. One point of which we must remind everyone; you may only claim points for content upon which you have done significant work, and which you have nominated, in 2012. For instance, articles written or good article reviews started in 2011 are not eligible for points.
This round will last until late February, and signups will remain open until the middle of February. If you know of anyone who may like to take part, please let them know about the comeptition; the more the merrier! At the end of this round, the top 64 scorers will progress to the next round, where their scores will reset, and they will be split into pools. Note that, by default, you have been added to our newsletter list; we will be in contact at the end of every month with news. You're welcome to remove yourself from this list if you do not wish to hear from us. Conversely, those interested in following the competition are more than welcome to add themselves to the list. Please direct any questions towards the judges, or on the WikiCup talk page. Good luck! J Milburn (talk) and The ed17 (talk) 17:53, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

I noticed you undid my ref edits and was hoping you could let me know what I did wrong for the future. Thanks!--DizFreak talk Contributions 02:05, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- I'm sorry DizFreak. There was nothing wrong with your edits. I was fixing the references at the same time as you and there was an edit conflict and I wound up undoing your edit. I thought our changes to those particular references were similar enough that I left it, but I wouldn't mind if you preferred them the other way. Gobonobo T C 02:09, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- No problem at all. I'm glad its done, whoever does it. --DizFreak talk Contributions 02:39, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
