Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Happy Planet cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Happy Planet cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 23:28, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

One Three Seven (137) Reply

[edit]

An album requires its own notability, and that notability is not inherited and requires independent evidence. That an album is an officially released recording by a notable musician or ensemble is not by itself reason for a standalone article. An album is deemed notable if it meets the general notability guidelines. These guidelines require that the album has received significant coverage in multiple independent reliable secondary sources. As I comment Allmusic is an acceptable source however in this case all it establishes is that the album exists not that it is notable. The Progarchives & Discogs references are not considered acceptable or reliable sources as they are user-generated without any independent editorial oversight.
