Ways to improve The Ounce of Prevention Fund

[edit]

Thanks for creating The Ounce of Prevention Fund.

A New Page Patroller Rosguill just tagged the page as having some issues to fix, and wrote this note for you:

Most of the provided sources are either directly affiliated with the subject, or are published in PR outlets that are not reliable sources. While these sources can sometimes be used to verify claims, they don't contribute toward justifying the subject's notability–the article's notability is thus very borderline when evaluating against WP:ORGCRITE, the notability guideline for organizations. The easiest way to demonstrate notability and protect the article from deletion is to provide more citations to independent, reliable, secondary sources, replacing some of the existing lesser-quality sources in the process.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can reply over here and ping me. Or, for broader editing help, you can talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

The Ounce of Prevention Fund moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, The Ounce of Prevention Fund, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.

I have sent this back to draft space in lieu of taking it to AFD as it is sourced almost exclusively to unreliable sources, such as blogs, sources which don't have the readership to establish notability, primary sources and rehashed press releases. A WP:BEFORE didn't reveal much in the way of coverage but given that this is a wiki-ed assignment, I'd rather draft it before taking it to AFD. If you have questions please reach out to a reviewer or myself. Praxidicae (talk) 18:48, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you Praxidicae! Gmike98, it would be a good idea to check out the school databases to see if there are any sources that aren't immediately visible on the Internet. Something that you may want to consider doing is summarizing this content into a few paragraphs and creating a section for the organization in the founder's article, Irving Harris. The content will need to have reliable sources so you'll want to still look for more sourcing, but this may be a good alternative. --Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:05, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the feedback. We are currently working to improve the page by finding more credible sources to backup our information. --Gmike98 (talk) 19:08, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
