CBBC ratings

Can I ask what you think it adds to TV show articles to quote an unexplained chunk of viewing figures from 2002? If a series was a channel's most popular show in one week in 2002 then it'd be more helpful to the reader to state that in prose, although even that seems potentially trivial in isolation, as it may just have been a slow week. Coronation Street's section on viewing figures is a good example of what an encyclopedia can usefully say about viewing figures for a series, using secondary sources to help determine which aspects are worth writing about. --McGeddon (talk) 15:51, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Articles have been protected to prevent these additions and/or the editors in question blocked when they persistently continue to reinsert inappropriate material. If a name is included in the article in this way, it has to show that it's relevant to the subject by meeting WP:Notability (people). Just because a station lists its employees doesn't mean Wikipedia needs to as well, and other station articles needing similar cleanup doesn't mean this one doesn't need to be cleaned up, because whenever it's actually discussed on a station article, the end result is the same; the names that don't meet WP:Notability (people) are removed. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at BBC Sport. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period.
