Copy-and-paste

[edit]

Hi. Since text in newspapers is copyrighted, it isn't possible to copy-and-paste it into Wikipedia. Some further info is available on the page WP:COPYPASTE. I've removed the parts of the article Murder of Alex Rodda that were copied from elsewhere, if you could expand the article summarizing what other sources say that would be quite good. If you have any questions about editing, come ask at the Teahouse :) – Thjarkur (talk) 08:35, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you I am new to creating articles on Wikipedia so this is helpful to me I'm sorry if I did anything wrong.

Hi. It appears that you may have created a new account to support your side in a deletion discussion, something which is not allowed on Wikipedia. I would recommend removing the post made by your alternative account, you are otherwise likely to be blocked for it. – Thjarkur (talk) 21:50, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Glittersnap, you may not quite get how seriously Wikipedia views vote manipulation. – Thjarkur (talk) 18:50, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation

[edit]

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Glittersnap, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Blocked for sockpuppetry

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Glittersnap. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 19:06, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Your reason here: I am a new user and understand the mistakes I have made to be blocked. I can assure you that I will not use sock puppets again and will delete my other accounts if needed and I have now read on https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Blocking_policy https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Policies_and_guidelines . I understand why it isn’t accepted on Wikipedia

Decline reason:

You surely didn't need to read WP:SOCK to know it was inappropriate to pretend to be multiple people in order to illicitly vote multiple times?!? Yamla (talk) 22:04, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I have read https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry#ILLEGIT and now know what sock puppetry is Glittersnap (talk) 21:58, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting a page I created is an attack against my account to be fair so I am getting revenge by doing what I did Glittersnap (talk) 01:09, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The page was perfectly written and there were no punctuation mistakes or anything else Glittersnap (talk) 01:10, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have Asperger syndrome and am autistic late teen almost in my 20s so yes I didn’t fully understand at the time Glittersnap (talk) 01:13, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I also have learning difficulties and ADHD Glittersnap (talk) 01:17, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, it sounds like you are saying you are not capable of understanding how to behave appropriately at Wikipedia. I'm sorry to hear that and I wish you well on other projects. --Yamla (talk) 11:03, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is it a 3 month ban or infinite? Glittersnap (talk) 11:15, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Neither. It is indefinite. --Yamla (talk) 11:34, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I didn’t realise how seriously Wikipedia took sock puppetry if I knew I would be blocked indefinitely I wouldn’t have done it Glittersnap (talk) 11:57, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can I appeal somewhere else? Glittersnap (talk) 11:58, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No. You can appeal here. WP:GAB explains how. It's very, very clear, though, that Wikipedia isn't the place for you; I don't imagine any admin will be willing to unblock you in the near future. See WP:CIR. --Yamla (talk) 11:59, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I’ll have to use a friends phone or a different network in the near future then if I want to use wikipedia Glittersnap (talk) 12:16, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

😆 Glittersnap (talk) 12:22, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
