Moving draft articles to the main article space

[edit]

Please do not directly move articles from the draft space to the main article space, as you did with the article for Startup Monthly (STM). While you are welcome to 'directly' write articles, 'publishing' them as you did does not clean up the 'leftover' templates, etc, used by the articles for creation process....you left a 'banner' on the article stating that it was recently created through Articles for Creation and that someone was in the process of cleaning up.

You should also be aware that by publishing articles directly as you have done, they will be judged by the much 'harsher' standards for live articles...something that would merely be 'declined' with suggested fixes as a draft will be likely deleted as as article if it does not fit Wikipedia's content policies.

I'm cleaning this up for you, but please do not do it 'this way' in the future. If you are going to write an article in your user space and then put it live, please do so by 'manually' removing the sandbox and draft headers, and then moving the article to mainspace. Thanks. Reventtalk 03:55, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Also, after actually 'looking'.... don't use the {{sidebar}} template as you have done, please use the 'infobox' templates to fit into Wikipedia's standard 'layout'. The appropriate template for this case in {{infobox company}}. I'm also fixing this, and moving the article to Startup Monthly to comply with Wikipedia's article naming policies. So sorry, I'm new to writing articles here and apparently I misunderstood how to finish up a draft. Thank you for your input, I'll make sure to be more careful in the future! Gisou94 (talk) 15:50, 2 July 2014 (UTC) Gisou94[reply]

It's not a shooting offense, didn't mean to sound 'bitey' if I came across that way. Looking at 'how' it was written, it looks like you are probably familiar with MediaWiki and just not familiar with Wikipedia's 'extensive' customizations. For instance, there is almost never a need to use __TOC__... the software will automatically insert one at the appropriate place once the article has enough sections to need it. One main purpose of AfC is as a 'teaching aid' to help new editors catch on to how things work.

About the article, itself....to be honest, it is well written, but it is completely based on self-published sources, and that's not really appropriate for Wikipedia. I put flags on the article, which describe and give links to the issues, but you should be aware that without some kind of 'independent, reliable sources' or claim as to why the company is notable, it stands a good chance of being marked for deletion by someone else. Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Startup Socials, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:34, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Startup Socials

[edit]

Hello Gisou94. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Startup Socials".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Startup Socials}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 11:28, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Startup Monthly has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Promotional article, created by SPA. No evidence of notability. Sourcing is a REFBOMB of bad sources. WP:BEFORE shows no coverage, let alone coverage with WP:CORPDEPTH. Tagged since 2014, no reasonable prospect of organic repair.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
