Barbary macaque photo

Thanks for the vote! Chris Buttigiegtalk 17:22, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

De nada. I hope it makes it. Gibmetal 77talk 00:50, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Yay, it made it. Chris Buttigiegtalk 16:50, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Gibraltar in the .es

I tried to add something to explain that we have a modern digital telephone network based on fibre optics. My attempt in Spanish was deleted as 'incomprehensible'. Have a go at saying in it better Spanish. --Gibnews 16:05, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

That other matter has been attended to and is now NPOV --Gibnews 00:18, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Fly Gibraltar

I expect you know the score on this one, read the article and express your opinion on

http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Fly_Gibraltar

Its from the same firm that talked about building an airport at jimena and dug up the rosia tanks, which is now an ugly hole in the ground. --Gibnews 23:37, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Gibraltar Bands

There seems to be a move to remove references to prominent Gib bands, you might want to pick up on as you have an interest in music. Given the size of the place I think we do particularly well and some of it is amazing. --Gibnews 15:26, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

I've just voted to keep No Direction. Unfortunately I didn't get there in time for SuperWookie. A few days back I was thinking of starting an article for Se7en Sins but it seems pointless now as its just going to be deleted as is already happening. *sigh* Gibmetal 77talk 16:26, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

New article

I have just created: Military history of Gibraltar during World War II, take a look. Chris Buttigiegtalk 20:30, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey, only just had a chance to read the article. Good work! I was thinking it might be a good idea to take and upload a photo of Sikorski's memorial. Just a suggestion :) Gibmetal 77talk 09:10, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
Well actually there's already one here which is used on the Sikorski page. But I'm not sure whether I should include it; perhaps it would be better to look for an old WWII photo. I'm looking for one of the war tunnels at the moment, but cannot seem to find any. Chris Buttigiegtalk 16:55, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
I hadn't seen that one, where is that taken from? I meant the monument (its a propellor) at the end of Devil's Tower Road, at the roadside just past the Motor Vehicle Test Centre. I agree, an old WWII photo would be ideal for the article too. Gibmetal 77talk 22:25, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
I assumed the plaque was under the actual propellor (describing the memorial), but now that you mention it, it might be from somewhere else. Chris Buttigieg 12:50, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Yea I'm pretty sure it is from somewhere else. I just passed by it today on my way to the beach but for once I didn't have my camera on me! Gibmetal 77talk 17:23, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Just found where Sikorski's plaque is located. It's inside The Great Siege Tunnels, right at the end. Just thought I would let you know :) Gibmetal 77talk 13:16, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Ah that makes much more sense now... hehe Chris Buttigieg 10:52, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Spain

I inform you that the Canary Islands and Ceuta are a part of Spain. It is not a dependence but a Spanish region. Please, excuse me my English level. Arzautz 13:17, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Gibmetal 77talk 23:25, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Breed 77

Hi. I just noticed this edit you made a few weeks ago. It's very rude to revert another editor's good-faith additions like this without saying anything. If you need an explanation of why the flag icons are unencyclopedic, or of why we can't use album covers this way, just ask. --John 14:00, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

I have removed the gallery of fair use images you added, again. If you add them again you will be at risk of a block. Fair use image galleries are not allowed. --John 22:32, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Fair enough. I just added the other galleries to follow what someone else had already started. I am sorry if this has bothered you. I am hoping to carry out some general work on the article soon. As you have pointed out, adding the necessary citations is definately a priority. Gibmetal 77talk 23:41, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Air Malta Plane

The photo I mentioned in Talk:Gibraltar Airport is here: http://picasaweb.google.com/binand/AircraftsAndAirports/photo#5088998349187833138

Please take a look - I myself am not very impressed with the pic. :) I can ask a friend to photoshop out the people in the foreground, though. Binand 19:59, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey Binand! Don't worry, I think it would be a good pic to include in the article as it shows that Air Malta does indeed land in Gib as part of the rock is visible in the background. At least until a better pic can be taken. Unfortunately I did not have a camera on me as I was swimming at Eastern Beach when I saw it land :). Maybe I can try to take a pic of it at Gib when it returns on the 24th July.
Returning to Gib from holiday?Gibmetal 77talk 23:17, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Dear member of WikiProject Malta, I'd like to invite you to participate in an ongoing Article for Deletion debate about St John's Square in the capital of Malta. We'd like your input about whether the article should stay and go (and if you want to expand the stub, that would be great too!) All the best, Eliz81(talk)(contribs) 21:25, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Re: DYKs on WP:Gibraltar

Yes, that's a much better idea. I should have done it in the first place. Thanks -- Chris Buttigieg 10:50, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Hello! If it's alright with you, add your e-mail address to your preferences so we can use email better. I think that's probably easier and more convenient. -- Chris Btalk 13:59, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Gibraltar Nationality

Hi!

Thanks for your help on the Nationality in Gibraltar site. I would like to keep it as a History page, since it is actually created for a History class!—Preceding unsigned comment added by Abay.sofia (talkcontribs)

Thanks for your advice! I'll be sure to explain my edits in the future- I am trying to make some changes in the article recomended by user WillHanley, my prof.

(Abay.sofia (talk) 18:13, 28 November 2007 (UTC))

The recommendations for the History of Nationality page are on the discussion board of the article, he's made lengthy comments twice already. (Abay.sofia (talk) 15:50, 29 November 2007 (UTC))

Map of Gibraltar

Hello.
Thanks for your comments. You did well because I'm always happy to be able to improve and correct a map with the help of somebody who has a local knowledge.
About the additional information :

  • I wasn't able to locate Waterport Road.
  • Is the St Bernard's Hospital what Google Maps indicates to be the Gibraltar General Hospital but three times the size it is shown and with a form of L ? (there's a sole huge building at that location)
  • What about the former buildings of the St Bernard's Hosp. ?
  • Is Keightly Way connected to Rosia Road ? Looking at the satellite view, it seems that there are two small tunnels separated by a small portion of road at open sky at Camp Bay. Is it correct ?
  • About the Tercentenary Sports Centre, I saw there were few more sports grounds and added them. The satellite pictures may be two or three years old so it may still not be completely up-to-date but I can't do better than what the sources give me.
  • Is the name « Passenger Warf » still up-to-date ? I ask that because this area changed a lot and the former jetty is now integrated to the reclaimed land.

Btw, if you or Chris have access to a topographic map (even printed), I would be glad to get a copy in order to create one for Gibraltar.
Greetings. Sting-fr (talk) 12:35, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

I've uploaded a new version with the corrections, please check if everything's all right. I deleted the indication « Passenger Warf » as there's a doubt and not really important. I deleted also the former highlighted area of the St Bernard's Hosp. as it is empty now. About the sports grounds I think it's enough this way as the map doesn't pretend to be a perfect city map and there will always be changes (in this area or in other ones) and will not be possible to display all of them.
It's a pleasure. Sting-fr (talk) 14:52, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
