Piriform, CCleaner
[edit]Greetings. When you added info to Piriform about their breach, you stated that the intrusion was executed in Sept 2017. It was discovered in that month. Tapered (talk) 10:33, 8 October 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. I saw you corrected it, and I myself corrected a slight typo in your addition to the article (researches > researchers). GhostOfNoMeme (talk) 00:34, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for edits on Para SF
[edit]A glass of Lassi for you | ||
Here is a glass of Lassi for you. Lassi is a traditional Indian dahi (yogurt) based drink. Thanks for pointing out problems related to the Para SF page. While making an edit summary is good. It will be of great help to the page watchers if you also note down and elaborate your concern on the talk page so that it can be fixed. Thanks for the good work and keep it up. Thank you. Elongate article
[edit]Hello User:GhostOfNoMeme, I'm reaching out because you're listed as a contributor to the Cryptocurrency WikiProject. I am trying to get a draft published in the Cryptocurrency domain, but it's a bit difficult as the reviewers seem to have an opposition to the topic of crypto as a whole. Meanwhile there are other topics published with significantly less notability. As you are knowledgeable on the subject, could you please look at the draft and let me know if you can assist? Thank you! https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Elongate_(cryptocurrency) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Salamanderxander (talk • contribs) 17:20, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
- (Note: This is an old message I'm replying to, from 2021. I'm replying since I was again approached about a different cryptocurrency.)
- I do participate in WikiProject Cryptocurrency but I have no interest in writing articles for low-effort 'meme' tokens. The overwhelming majority of these projects are rugpulls and scams. I wrote the SafeMoon article in 2021 and watched as the #Criticisms and legal issues section expanded for years, until finally the developers were arrested in 2023 as the entire project had allegedly been a giant scam. So tl;dr – I'm quite happy nowadays to write solely about actual, established cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum) and nothing else. GhostOfNoMan 04:50, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
Important notice
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in gender-related disputes or controversies or in people associated with them. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}}
on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently made edits related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people. This is a standard message to inform you that post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people is a designated contentious topic. This message does not imply that there are any issues with your editing. Contentious topics are the successor to the former discretionary sanctions system, which you may be aware of. For more information about the contentious topics system, please see Wikipedia:Contentious topics. For a summary of difference between the former and new system, see WP:CTVSDS. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 14:56, 14 July 2024 (UTC)

[edit] Hello, I'm Chocmilk03. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Lexie Matheson, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Chocmilk03 (talk) 22:02, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
(To explain further, you did provide a reference, but Reduxx is a questionable source and the material added was potentially defamatory.) Chocmilk03 (talk) 22:05, 15 July 2024 (UTC)- Hey, thanks for your message. I didn't write that section myself, rather I was attempting to restore the Honours and awards section that an editor had removed without explanation. See here where they removed it and here where I restored it. GhostOfNoMeme 05:17, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Oooooh that makes much more sense. Sorry (facepalm), I should have more carefully checked the edit history than I did... please disregard above! Chocmilk03 (talk) 05:53, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- No worries! I did apparently correct a typo in that section at some point (Pintrest → Pinterest) so I can understand how the confusion may have arisen. GhostOfNoMeme 06:23, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
