[edit]It sometimes takes a while for the thumbnails to generate. That has nothing to do with CommonsHelper. I checked the categories on Commons, and the thumbnail is there. If it doesn't show for you, clear your browser cache. --Magnus Manske 19:35, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Royal Leerdam Crystal
AecisBrievenbus 21:07, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hi GerardusS, I left the note because I noticed that rather than redirect the mobile link to the correct mobile link, you chose to 'unlink' them. I wasn't sure why, so I left the note. All's well though....Modernist (talk) 10:36, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for the information. I uploaded that image and several others to commons and also created a Gallery in the English article on ChadwickWmpearl (talk) 21:15, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Gerardus, you left me a message regarding the images at http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Inge_King, they are now creative commons images that you should now be able to use. dnw (talk) 04:39, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks David, I noticed the two images that are now on Commons. I have linked the University one with the image in Inge King's article with NowCommons. I don't know what to do with the other. In future cases please upload your images directly on Wikimedia Commons and use the images in en.wiki articles. In that way you enable others users from other wikipedia's like me (nl.wikipedia) to do the same.
- By the way, David, is there a possiblily that you upload more images from Australian sculptors like Rick Amor to Wikimedia? I am very interested in sculpture (and art) in Australia in the public space and I am already corresponding with Robin Whittle in Melbourne who is giving special attention to Inge King (see also the Inge King article).
- Greetings from the Netherlands,--GerardusS (talk) 05:56, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
We seem to have common interests, we have known Inge for over 25 years, Rick is a friend of a friend and we have met him several times. My wife and I have a couple of small sculptures by Inge and Rick, a couple of Rick's paintings.
Yesterday I updated the Article on Inge King to add the details of a major Arts award that she has recieved. I will place acopy of my portrait photo of Inge on the Commons site as well.
The other two images in the Inge King article which Robin Whittle (who I am correseponding with as well) placed on the Commons site should be usable by you, what is the problem there ?
I have placed an image of Rick Amor's 'The Dog' that I took, on Commons site, and you should be able make use of that. Regarding more images, I certainly intend to take a photo of Ricks prize winning sculpture 'The Relic' next time I go to the gallery sculpture park where it is situated and to use that image. Rick does not have many Public sculptures to photgraph yet.
There is another large Inge King sculpture 'Shearwater' in central Melbourne where I live that I will get an Image of. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dnwilson (talk • contribs) 23:46, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your answer David (Please sign your messages). I used the image from Inge King in the nl.wikipedia article! Getting more images is not needed at all, but a collection of her sculptures on wikimedia commons is very usefull for those readers and art lovers who want to see more than is possible on the wikipedia pages. Only when more images from the same sculpture are there it is necessary to make an undercategory as you did with the image from Rick Armor's Dog. I started the Category:Rick Armor and linked it to en.wikipedia as well. I hope to see more images from Melbourne and/or Australia coming as Australian arts an artists are underrepresented. Luckily there is freedom of panorama in Australia for objects of art in the public space which are permanently on show. Good luck to both Robin Whittle and you. [edit]As you translated some of the article, please note this rv. -- User:Docu
- Thank you Docu, I changed the dates and added some new ones in nl.wikipedia. I hope that more (and better) images are uploaded to Commons. Greetings,--GerardusS (talk) 06:50, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- I thought of that too, maybe WikiProject Australia could be asked to help us with that. Maybe we should try to get a more complete list of works before though. -- User:Docu

In Memoriam Gerardus
[edit]On Friday, December 30, Gerard deceased. He had a long history of severe migraine, that in the last twenty years persisted almost continuously. His wife Katja, with whom he had an intimate relationship, was always the one who managed to drag him through. It was a heavy blow to him when she had a brain tumor and died. Despite his years of migraines Gerard had a very successful career and had very wide interests, knowledge and a passion for modern art. Especially for sculpture, as illustrated by thousands of contributions on Wikipedia. Wikipedia has meant much to him in recent years because it gave him a goal and a daily occupation, which otherwise would mainly be dominated by the migraine. In this way he has been able to give a very constructive and positive approach to a crippling disease. It was also the Wikipedia Community who in recent years have yielded his best contacts, something that often surprised him and that he was grateful for. On Gerard's behalf I'd like to thank you for your support, online discussions, comments and contributions. Gerard died in the way he wanted, in peace and quiet, but not alone. His cremation has already taken place, also in silence. I got to know Gerard closely, particularly in recent months, that's why I think it's important to reflect on his life, so I hope you would like to contribute something to the memory of Gerard at this place. What is important here to mention is that every article Gerard placed on Wikipedia, was first read by Katja and, if necessary added to, so the contributions of Gerard were also partly by Katja. I'm glad I could get to know them. In gratitude that Gerard could find the peace he longed for so long, Satrughna (talk) 20:01, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
