WV TPA
Re [1], Winkelvi can see the ANI thread. Let's assume he is keeping up with it (that's where he got his list of alleged bear-poking comments), so we don't need to keep him apprised of developments there. If he has anything to say about the TPA subsection, he'll say it without prompting from us. ―Mandruss ☎ 19:55, 15 April 2017 (UTC)
- Okay, Mandruss. I did my best; I'll keep that assumption (about his watching the page) in mind. --George Ho (talk) 20:12, 15 April 2017 (UTC)
Issues
Hello. If you have issues with me, you can discuss them with me. I am not unreasonable.
I think there has been many misunderstandings.
First, it seems to me that you do not wish to discuss Taiwan related issues on Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (Chinese), which is weird because you named the section "China and Taiwan naming issue" and John also mentioned Taiwan early on. If you do not wish to discuss Taiwan related issues, I think you need to be clear on that. I am fine with that and I have done as you have asked. However, I am interested in discussing China related issues too, and you seem to have a problem with that. Please explain.
Second, I wrote User:Szqecs/China and Taiwan: main articles and User:Szqecs/Naming conventions (China and Taiwan) for experimental purposes. I did make the mistake of adding the proposal tag, and I have removed them from both mine and your pages. I showed the page to you only to show you what I was thinking. I did not intend to make a formal proposal (yet) and I stated that the user namespace is not suitable for public discussions (my namespace anyway). Szqecs (talk) 08:57, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
- I apologize for not going to your talk page first, Szqecs. And I apologize for not discussing the "proposal" tag either. To be honest, seems that you are very enthusiastic about Taiwan so much and demanded changes in rules for clarity (or something). Also, you proposed the creation of "Wikipedia:Naming conventions (China and Taiwan)", which was... to me, too rushed. Also, you created "Wikipedia:Centralized discussion/China" (although I somewhat defended it), which went nowhere until deleted.
For the first part you mentioned, I did start the China/Taiwan naming issue only because there were too many RMs on the parent articles and subtopics, not because of politics of China and of Taiwan. I wonder whether you were aware of the overabundance of individual RMs and how the community has found them becoming unbearable and tiring. Well, I did watch some latest news about Taiwan, including the fact that Tsai Ing-wen became the first female Taiwanese president in history ;). I also do have some interest in China politics. However, the main issue raised at Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (Chinese) is just the titling of articles about and related to China and Taiwan. BTW, I'm not that skilled or expert on China history or politics.
About the second part... well, I should have discussed this with you way earlier, but we'll forgive each other for some misunderstandings. Still, I don't think those "experiments" would help much, especially when they become full-fledged proposals. Also, you should be careful next time before proposing things and creating things again. --George Ho (talk) 14:03, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
- I apologize again: I did not see your reply. I'll do it soon. --George Ho (talk) 14:30, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
- For the first part, I am aware of the RMs. By "Taiwan related issues", I meant naming issues. I don't remember talking about politics at Wikipedia_talk:Naming_conventions_(Chinese)#China_and_Taiwan_naming_issue. I do think the suitability of Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Chinese) for Taiwan is in question. I have done as you suggested: taking the issue to Wikiproject Taiwan. And a user said no, the page should not cover Taiwan. So maybe Taiwan naming issues shouldn't be added yet? If you must add Taiwan, I only ask that the lead states that Taiwan topics are of concern, just to be clear.
- Regarding the proposal, I think my approach was the opposite of "rushed". The usual way per WP:PROPOSAL would be to write a draft first, discuss and modify, do an RfC and done. But because of the complexity of the issue, I took the slower approach, which is to discuss the issues and how to structure discussions first. I experimented on User:Szqecs/Naming conventions (China and Taiwan) because I was thinking about taking the former approach if the discussion is deleted. WP:UPYES says that user pages can be used for experimentation. Szqecs (talk) 15:27, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Szqecs: Okay, thanks for clearing things up. When you say "Taiwan-related issues", it looks too broad and may imply anything related to Taiwan. You can be more specific next time, so I'll understand more. Re-reading WT:TAIWAN, when the user said,
I think WP:CHINESE and MOS:CHINESE do not apply to Taiwan but can be used as reference.
, to me that's just an opinion. However, the user's whole response is related to names of Taiwanese people and places in Taiwan. Something tells me that the user didn't mention the China/PROC and Taiwan/ROC situation. I'll ask that user soon. --George Ho (talk) 18:23, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

If this is true...
If this is true, then you need to go through every former television program in that category and change it. Over the years I have been constantly reverted for inserting 'was' and others are telling me that we use 'is'. So we're not going to do one thing in one article, and a different thing in others. - That was my error, Corky, and I reverted it. --George Ho (talk) 21:08, 22 April 2017 (UTC)

You're me?
Some idiot on the Erin Moran talk page, MurielMary, is accusing you of being me. I don't know you, but apparently you and her must have some history on here. What's funny is she keeps preaching to "assume good faith" but obviously doesn't know what it, or hypocrisy, means. Just wanted to make you aware of it. Take care. 2605:A000:FFC0:D8:ADF3:C706:1C77:4C80 (talk) 13:47, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
MurielMary, I am not that same person whom you accused. The person contacted me on my talk page. Also, look at this diff and that diff. Any difference? If you can strike out the wrong assumption that I was using an IP from Ohio, that would be great. BTW, I was wrongly accused of sockpuppetry, just to note. George Ho (talk) 14:21, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- Not sure if you realize it, but you posted your reply on your own talk page, not MurielMary's. Cheers. 2605:A000:FFC0:D8:ADF3:C706:1C77:4C80 (talk) 14:30, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- I just invited her to my talk page. --George Ho (talk) 14:32, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- You could report her for falsely accusing you of being a sockpuppet. I read that doing so without reporting it to the sockpuppet noticeboard and with no evidence is grounds for a block. 2605:A000:FFC0:D8:ADF3:C706:1C77:4C80 (talk) 14:37, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- Let's wait for several more hours. By looking at her user page, she is sleeping in where she lives. Let's wait for her response and not rush into ANI, which is very dysfunctional and troublesome. Trust me, let's not rush there yet. --George Ho (talk) 14:40, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- No problem. I see you've been an editor for over 11 years (very impressive), so I'll defer to your judgement on how to handle this. She's been editing for 18 months. Did you and her have some sort of disagreement that would cause her to make this false and defamatory allegation about you? 2605:A000:FFC0:D8:ADF3:C706:1C77:4C80 (talk) 14:51, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Well, ANI is unnecessary. Matter is resolved. Let's move on then. --George Ho (talk) 23:50, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
