WORK PLAN
[edit]I plan to evaluate and expand on the Wiki article of Danielle Bunten Berry. She is an American game designer and programmer. She's most known for her work with "M.U.L.E" (1983) and "The Seven Cities of Gold" (1984). My goal is to work on the overall article and to refine several areas that could use some touch up. Some steps ill take is to make sure all sources are reliable and published sources. The sections I feel that can use the most improvement and revision is; Games, Ozark softscape, pictures, recognition, sources and overall grammatical and punctuation errors. https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Danielle_Bunten_Berry&action=edit. There is already flagged work for improvement such as; The article needing additional citing, and more reliable sources.
GAMES
[edit]Some games added don't have hyperlinks attached to them. I plan to replace those links with working redirects so readers can further explore into the works and inspirations of the games created.
Ozark Softscape
[edit]I like this section about the company her titles were released under and she worked for. I do feel this area is also lacking in some extra information that could help provide insight into the type of company and atmosphere she was involved with.
Pictures
[edit]One thing i'll look into improving on also is adding a picture or two of the previous games mentioned that won her an Awards. I will do this by looking through creative common works (CC) to prevent any copy write or plagiarism.
- M.U.L.E (1983)
- The Seven Cities of Gold (1984)
Reworking Recognition
[edit]While the section has a good start, it doesn't talk much about her rewards and has she had been rewarded them. I believe this section alone can use a good revision and has plenty of space for improvement. I will try and elaborate of what got her recognition for the awards such as; the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Computer Game Developers Association and what exactly qualified her to be the 10th inductee into the Hall of fame by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.
- Going to expand on: Lifetime Achievement Award
- Going to expand on: Hall of Fame
- Maybe how and what qualified her for these rewards and recognition.
Sources
[edit]I plan to look through the CSI library archive to find peer reviewed articles to help expand the research already done. If I can't find any article on the CSI website, I will expand my search to google scholar. I plan to use another 10-20 additional sources that will expand on several areas of the wiki article. The sources I intend to find more information is
- The games used
- More information pertaining to Danielle Bunten Berry
- Pictures of her top known games
- Expand on her rewards
- Peer reviewed articles with credible information
Grammatical Errors
[edit]Another thing I will do is make sure spelling and punctuation gets fixed along with the use of proper citations and hyperlinks. This will allow for a smoother read through the content provided, and for future content to be added.
- GeorgeD09 This is an excellent workplan. You really got into detail. Please do the same with the annotated link list! Please see this fellow student's work for a good example. --Theredproject (talk) 03:17, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
Feedback
[edit]Hi GeorgeD09 I just checked and your edits and want to offer a few pieces of guidance that you will need to follow in order to haver your edits successfully posted without being reverted.
- Please avoid Plagiarism (AKA Wikipedia:Copyright violations). In the paragraph you added "Bunten is still considered something of a rock star among game designers and those interested in the history of games. For Bunten, an engineer who grew up loving family board games like Risk and Monopoly, the social aspect of gaming was the thing, as was the belief that a human opponent was always going to present more challenge and fun than even the best computer brain." These is a direct copy of the text in the original source.
- I don't think it is necessary to move the section about Bunten's transition to its own LGBTQ section. I think that it makes sense to keep it in the biography section.
- You need to add citations for every claim. For your purposes, you can think about this as pretty much one citation for every sentence. As we have discussed, you can reuse citations, but you have to have them there. As of now, you have them on some of your claims, but not all. --Theredproject (talk) 15:20, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- Looking closer, I have discovered further COPYVIO. Please see this analysis [1]--Theredproject (talk) 16:22, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
