[edit]
Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, If you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. Brookie :) { - like the mist - there one moment and then gone!} (Whisper...) 14:52, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

GB stands for Genna Brand, one member of an organization not the entire organization. InnoAfricaGB (talk) 06:36, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Renamed as requested. This is based on your agreement to refrain from any further WP:COI violations by refraining from any direct edits for any subject area for which you have a conflict of interest. Yamla (talk) 10:59, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

That would make your username compliant with policy, which resolves that matter. I might suggest(but not require you to) you change your username at Special:GlobalRenameRequest to slightly expand on the GB in your username to make it clearer it is a person's name, or post a message on your user page indicating that. This might avoid this sort of confusion. However, you do not seem to have complied with the conflict of interest and paid editing policies. Please indicate that you will agree to review and comply with those policies. 331dot (talk) 06:54, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I just requested a new username. I am currently not being paid to make edits on this page, nor have I been making edits to other pages for my own (or anyone else's) personal interests. That being said, I will review and comply with the policies you attached. — Preceding unsigned comment added by InnoAfricaGB (talkcontribs)

Whether or not you receive money is irrelevant to WP:COI, which you appear to have been violating. That said, it seems rather unlikely to me that InnoAfrica doesn't pay you a salary or an hourly rate. --Yamla (talk) 11:20, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Will you explicitly agree to refrain from any further direct edits about InnoAfrica? What will you write about instead, now that you know about WP:COI? What would you like your username to be? --Yamla (talk) 11:21, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yamla, I am an unpaid intern simply trying to make a new Wikipedia page that another past unpaid intern forgot the username and password for. Additionally, it has not been updated for numerous years. I would like it if the new username could be GennaBinnoafrica, please and thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.166.72.102 (talk) 11:59, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am happy to rename you. But you have a clear conflict of interest and will have to refrain from any direct edits to that article. Whether you are paid or not is not relevant. Do you agree to this? --Yamla (talk) 12:51, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • As I understand it, being an unpaid intern means you still must comply with the paid editing policy. Though you are not being paid money, you are being compensated with the experience. 331dot (talk) 15:19, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Then how am I to finish this project?

but yes I agree. — Preceding unsigned comment added by InnoAfricaGB (talkcontribs)

We don't care about your project. We are not interested in what organisations have to say about themselves. --Yamla (talk) 10:57, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
