Exclaim.ca

[edit]

Hi, welcome, and thank you for your edits. I noticed that many (if not all) of your edits insert exclaim.ca links into references or external links sections. Please keep in mind that Wikipedia is not a repository of links, and it's preferable that instead of simply adding links, you add content that are sourced to reliable sources. I'm going to go ahead and remove the links, but please let me know if you have any questions, and have you say at the discussion at WP:RSN#Exclaim.ca. Thanks. --Mosmof (talk) 17:04, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the point of WP:NOT and WP:EL is that simply adding links because you like them or they might be useful does do harm, or at least isn't helpful. While we can disagree on where to draw the line, I think we can agree that, for the purposes of Wikipedia, bloat is detrimental. As I said, it's generally preferable to add actual content rather to simply add links (especially to external links sections that are already bloated). Also, going through article after article, adding links to the same site makes you look like a WP:SPAMMER, even if you're not (and I'm sure you aren't). If Exclaim is truly useful, as you say it is, you can always cite it as a source for facts not already mentioned in articles. Mosmof (talk) 22:42, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
