Speedy deletion nomination of User:Gayasianarthistory/sandbox
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:Gayasianarthistory/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from see earwig. I attempted to remove the first paragraph which was the most blatant cv, but page creater reverted it.. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit]Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:M Woods Museum, from its old location at User:Gayasianarthistory/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 18:15, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

Please help me with...
I have re-written an article on the M Woods Museum in Beijing carefully and with a great number of references from leading publications (NY Times, Vogue, etc.). I am not copying information from websites, and I'm using a great deal of citations for everything that I write. I'm not sure why this article keeps getting tagged as a copy right infringement or why the references are not considered enough. When I look at the Sifang museum page, there are no references at all. It's just a thumbnail. So I don't know why there keeps being an issue.

- I think I see what is going on. A large fraction of your current draft consists of quotes from Lin Han, so when comparing it with the references, the automated tool sees there as being a large percentage overlap. You can probably drop those quotes out for now, since they do not help with the other problem that you must overcome - notability.
- As best I can see (I was not able to check all of the references), they are not the sort of independent, in-depth writing about the museum that would be required to establish the museum's notability. Interviews with the founders do not help support notability because they are not independent. Articles that focus more on the founders than the museum similarly do not help, since they merely mention the museum in passing rather than writing about it in substantial detail. You need the writing in substantial detail, from multiple sources, both to establish notability and to provide the base material for the article.
- Comparing with other pages is, unfortunately, not fruitful unless the other page is considered a "Good Article" or better. The Sifang Art Museum page was created in 2010 and is still a "stub", meaning that it has never been enlarged with properly sourced content and, it could be argued, should not have been created in the first place. There's an essay called Other Stuff Exists that describes how poorly this sort of argument is regarded. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 03:39, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
