Police Car image
[edit]Hi. I see that you've edited the police car article several times, each time for the sole purpose of placing one of two images of Australian police cars as the lead image. My interpretation of this pattern is that you want to promote this police service, which I guess you are somehow associated with, rather than actually improve the article. Unfortunately, Wikipedia is not about promoting any particular service or organization, so as your images add nothing to the article, I've been moving them down to the gallery, and replacing the original image as the lead image. Please do add to the article, but please don't do so in a way that merely promotes your favorite police service.
Since I see that you're new, I'm passing along some links that were passed to me when I started here:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you find these links helpful, and I hope you continue to contribute. If I can be of assistance, please don't hesitate to ask - just click "talk" after my signature. This will take you to my talk page, and you can click to add a message. Once you save the message, Wikipedia will let me know it's there, and I'll respond. [edit]Hi there. Thanks for finding that reference - I don't think that fact was on the Emporis page when I first wrote this article. I've slightly edited your text and fixed the reference. Thanks for adding it! :) - Mark 02:34, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
