It doesn't matter what their official name is. MOS:TM, the manual of style for trademarks and names, states that things like "w-inds." should be changed to "W-inds" to fit normal English standards. エムエックスさん 話 17:00, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Ah right
[edit]Ah right.. the problem is that businesses will often take articles about themselves, embed them on their website and then link to them here - to the causal reader they think it's a link to the original article when actually it's a way of driving traffic to a commercial site (and that is a commercial site with products to sell). Moreover, there have been cases where the articles as presented on someone's site have been doctored and do not match the originals, so if in doubt, best to link to the original site. --Cameron Scott (talk) 21:15, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

London Wikimedia Fundraiser
[edit]Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Shiply is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shiply (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article.
Revived interest in the film Infernal Affairs

From your edits for the film Infernal Affairs there is presently a poll taking place on The Departed film Talk page regarding whether you believe a separate subsection should be included for (a) Infernal Affairs as a source for the plot of The Departed film, and/or (b) a second subsection for the recently captured crime figure Whitey Bulger as the source for the character played by Jack Nicholson in the film.
The recent capture of Bulger has revived the question from two years ago of Infernal Affairs from when it did have a separate subsection on The Departed film page which was deleted by User:RepublicanJ, now known as User:OldJ.
