Although I didn't upload the original file (simply edited the link in the List of Canadian flags), I didn't realize the copyrighted nature of the image (I'll be sure to scrutinize the copyright info before adding or editing links). Thanks you for your understanding. Just for reference, I realized you did not upload the file, but this template also says " However, it appears that one or more of the files you have uploaded or added to a page..." (bold emphasis is mine), so it's often used to notify users adding files as well. Maybe, the template can be reworded to make this clearer. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:15, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

Juneau class successor

Unfortunately, the Worcester class of 6-inch light cruisers was NOT the successor to the Juneau class of 5-inch cruisers, the CL-154 class was. The guns of the two classes had different ballistics and rates of fire and served (or were to serve) somewhat different purposes. Their hull lines and displacements were significantly different. About the only things they shared was a general machinery arrangement and the word 'light' in their classification, which was the consequence of an arms treaty. This is well documented in Friedman's 1984 U.S. Cruisers: An Illustrated Design History; this book should be considered authoritative and should supersede any reference that claims otherwise.

I have prepared an article on the CL-154 class in my sandbox, please read it. The only thing holding up publication is the copyright on a line drawing (I have left a USS Juneau photo as a placeholder until then). My sandbox is User:Tfdavisatsnetnet/sandbox

Unless I completely misstated myself I was only referring to a chronological successor, rather than a design successor.

I agree completely with your statements regarding CL154 and Friedman's authority in his writing (I own his volumes for CV, BB, CA/CL, DD and SS).
