Unspecified source for Image:GE_2007-06-21.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:GE_2007-06-21.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:09, 25 January 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 16:09, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. You indicated on the information page for Image:Garry Kasparov - New York 2003 .png that it is licensed under the GFDL. However, in your email requesting permission, you only asked if you can have permission to use the image "on Wikipedia." This is intensely misleading, as your email did not mention the terms of the GFDL or the fact that the copyright holder would be releasing the image for profit use on websites other than Wikipedia. As such, I am marking the license as disputed, removing it from the Garry Kasparov article and contacting the original copyright holder with a more formal request. Please read Wikipedia:Requesting_copyright_permission for more information. Cheers, --Ryan Delaney talk 22:23, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File:GE.jpg missing description details

[edit]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:GE.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:04, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

1995 IIHF pool c2

None of the listed references on the page list Krugersdorp as a host city, where did the information come from?18abruce (talk) 19:40, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I lived in South Africa and attended the games. Pool games were split between the Carlton Centre Ice Rink in Johannesburg, and the Krugersdorp Ice Rink in Krugersdorp. Later on the Carlton Rink was closed, and a few years later the Krugersdorp Rink. That's why you'll see the 1999 games were only held in Krugersdorp. They are separate cities and games were held in each.

Information icon Hello, I'm Thomas.W. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Longest recorded sniper kills, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. I have reverted your addition of the alledged kill by a South African sniper. It's the same as with the claims about an Australian sniper kill. The only source is a loose claim in a newspaper, with no official confirmation of any kind. And that's simply not good enough. See the discussions about the alledged Australian sniper kill on the talk page. Thomas.W talk to me 12:53, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
