Myra Bairstow

[edit]

Hi, I've started a discussion at [1]. I'm concerned that your main interest may be in promoting the subject and her career, and question the quality of sources (mostly primary, linking to her publications and work for the gallery, rather than links to articles about her). In short, notability per WP:NOTABILITY doesn't appear to be strongly established, though you make small changes and remove maintenance templates. Additionally, you referred to your account as 'we' [2], which gives the impression that you're editing on behalf of someone, or sharing the account with others. I appreciate that you're relatively new here--please feel free to ask questions, and engage in the discussion I've linked to above. 99.155.206.28 (talk) 01:53, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm also concerned that in starting the article you copied much of it directly from the subject's website [3], a copyright violation and the explanation for its promotional tone. 99.155.206.28 (talk) 02:59, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dang, I'm sorry, I know I'm fumbling around in here. Thank you for your patience! I'm working on this in collaboration with Myra herself. I'll be sure to review all the guidelines better. Should I submit to someone to review beforehand? Thanks again! Garnersaurus (talk) 19:03, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:The cast of Dorothy Hale rings the NASDAQ closing bell.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
