User talk:Gargoyle888
Hi Gargoyle. I updated your description of lapping to describe equipment that is newer in technology than the piece you described. The addition of jig capability gives much more controlability over the amount (and speed) of material removed during a lapping process. I feel it is important to show readers that there are other variations of lapping machinery available and that the lapping process can be conducted in more than one method. If you feel strongly about keeping the existing image and descripton, why don't we have 2 desciptions available on the page, yours and mine? I am disappointed that you feel the need to revert the page back to a former state. Surely, the point of Wiki's is to update and add to content to keep it up to date?--User:DarrenSavery 21:49, 14 August 2006
Hi Gargoyle888 and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for improving Lapping. In order to make your image fit better into the text, you could have a look at Wikipedia:Image. Hope you will decide to stay here at Wikipedia--Betterworld 00:39, 18 August 2005 (UTC)
Thank you for that pointer. I think I've managed to fixed the image.--gargoyle888 04:39, 18 August 2005 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:833-3.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:833-3.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Stan 15:07, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
Hi Gargoyle888, I think this page needs to be renamed to avoid confusion with other types of seals but I'm not sure what the best name would be. I've seen this design on heavy equipment axles with integral brakes where the manufacturer calls it a face seal. Anyway, could you comment at Talk:Mechanical seal with your preference? thanks --Duk 23:08, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Hello, can you move the picture to commons.wikimedia bacause I want to use it in de.wikipedia? It would be very nice. You can find me [here].
Hi Gargoyle, dunno if you would considerajourning to article's talk page to try and thrash out a REAL article on this topic? If so I would be happy to change my "strong delete" to "neutral". --Zeraeph 23:39, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- Doesn't matter where you get your perspective from, you obviously have a fair and open mind regardless. Which is what this topic needs. --Zeraeph 04:38, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
File source problem with File:2621-4.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:2621-4.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:49, 13 November 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock (TALK) 06:49, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Problems with upload of File:Gui4cli.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Gui4cli.gif. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.
To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Speedy deletion nomination of P.J. Hoff
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on P.J. Hoff requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. reddogsix (talk) 00:00, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
