....Factually accurate is good!

Um, when you leave a comment on a talk page, will you add ~~~~ to the end of it? It leaves a link to your user page and your talk page, and therefore make it a lot easier to get to here to leave a comment. Thanks, the_ed17 00:34, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, nice user page...it looks slightly familiar. =D the_ed17 00:35, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Will you be on here often now? the_ed17 00:45, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, I don't care; steal all you want off of my user page--I stole it from other people as well! Also, see User:GaretJax777/sig. If you like it, go to 'Preferences' (on the top of the page), scroll to 'Signature', and put {{subst:User:GaretJax777/sig}} in the box. Also, check the 'raw signature' box. Alright? Also, If you need any help, just ask. Cheers! the_ed17 00:55, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, if you want to reply to that message, reply here, on this page...it is easier when a conversation is in one place...for me at least! the_ed17 00:55, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You learn quick! You already know that : indents! the_ed17 00:56, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I only learned that by checking out what you did. But anyways. If you ever wanna talk a lil faster and you have AIM, my username is Garetjaxpwns (Yeah, I know, Jaxaholic). Anyways I hafta go now. XD. Thanks for all the info. GaretJax777 (talk) 00:59, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's how I learned most of the stuff I know! I have IM...Will that work? My name there is Eddie (the_ed17@hotmail.com). Plain and simple. Same person? That's a stretch! =) I will be on more when school starts--I'm going to college at Northern Michigan University, so I will have more free time...maybe. =) If you have a question, leave me a message anytime, or put it here--I'll see it on my watchlist. I'll reply as soon as I can. Cheers! the_ed17 01:04, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. We like a lot of the same stuff, don't we...I used to love the Long Patrol once upon a time..haven't thought about the Redwall books in years though...what's your favorite genre of music? the_ed17 01:08, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I hadn't thought about Redwall till I saw that userbox. Umm, I appreciate every genre of music as long as you're good at it. So my tastes go from Elton John, and Celine Dion, to Amon Amarth and Killswitch Engage. But as of currently I'm mostly engaged in various forms of metal including a lot of power metal, and opera and symphonic metal such as Kamelot, Nightwish, Rhapsody. Etc. How about you? GaretJax777 (talk) 01:15, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

lol. Still pretty close...I like the 60's, 70's and the 80's mostly...Elton John is one of my favorite singers! Not so much metal, however. =) the_ed17 01:21, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, do you want a special signature? (I.e. mine is special) Something unique? If so, what font and what color? (###### please.) I'll change it for you. the_ed17 02:04, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ummm, I think I would like a special signature. I'm thinking the font should be something fantasy-ish kinda like yours. Or something very gothic looking. And for colours, I like the blue (#0000FF) GaretJax777 (talk) 02:25, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I'll work on it...any particular font name in mind? the_ed17 20:21, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Try it out with ~~~~. I used the font "Monotype Corsiva" (the same one I used). If you want a different font, go to User:GaretJax777/sig and change the font by changing (inside this: <font face="Monotype Corsiva">) only the font name insode...nothing else. Leave the quotes alone, too. =) If you need any help, or if you just want me to do it, leave a message. the_ed17 20:40, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh. Thank you very much kind sir. Garet Jax 21:23, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ummm. There appears to be a problem with my signature. You can only click on the Garet part, so clicking it won't take you to my userpage. Do you know how to fix this?Garet Jax 21:24, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
=) I believe that I fixed it now... I also fixed the problem of your signature changing the font of everything after it to Monotype Corsiva...lol, oops! =D Anything else I can help you with? Cheers, the_ed17 23:17, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not at the moment. Thank you though. Garet Jax 23:31, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright! You are most welcome, the_ed17 23:42, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to start removing {{fact}} tags, will you add quotes from the books instead if there are no third-party sources? Just adding a "ref" tage that points to the book is WP:OR...Sorry, but if it going to have any chance at getting to being a Good article, it's going to need qoute and third party sources, whether they are old magazines, or a reliable internet source--reliable sources...Wow, this message sounded rude...it wasn't meant too. =) the_ed17 02:18, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Quotes

[edit]

I really don't know what the Manual of Style says about this...but take a look at The Sword of Shannara for ideas. We're going to have to use quotes because there are no online sources--not counting The Shannara Files--for a 1984 book, unfortunately. the_ed17 16:52, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can use both {{cqoute}} and normal quotes...depends on the length of the quote, I'd say. (cquote for long ones.) Also see what I've been doing at Demons (Shannara). Cheers! the_ed17 16:53, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
{{quote}} is preferable to {{cquote}}, though. See Wikipedia:Peer review/The Sword of Shannara/archive1. the_ed17 01:02, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, now I know. {{cquote}} is used for pull quotes, that is to say quotations that are in the text of the article. {{quote}} is for all quotes that are from a source somewhere else. the_ed17 17:58, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Novels Roll Call

WikiProject Novels is currently holding a roll call, which we hope to have annually. Your username is listed on the members list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active within the project. If you still consider yourself an active WP:Novels editor, please add your name back to the Active Members list. Also feel free to join any of our task forces and take a look at the project's Job Centre to get involved!

Next month we will begin the coordinator election selection process. We hope to have more involvement and input this time around! More news will be forthcoming. Thanks, everyone! María (habla conmigo) 16:17, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're....you're ALIVE!

[edit]

How's life treatin' ya, Garet? :) —Ed 17 (Talk / Contribs) 17:36, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes! I am. Haha. It's going okay. Just so busy with schoolwork, and everything. Makes it hard to find time for Wikipedia. But thankfully I should be on more frequently now. So, we'll just have to see how everything goes. I think I'm mostly just gonna work on some Harry Potter and Shannara pages now, cuz I was really spread out before. But yeah. I'm having to relearn all of the commands and everything. Haha. I feel like a newbie again. Garet Jax 04:41, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, remember to do your schoolwork before Wikipedia. :) Have fun! —Ed 17 (Talk / Contribs) 04:43, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
