[edit]Hello, I'm Cassiopeia. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Lucien D. Gardner—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Cassiopeia talk 02:04, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. I am Robert Gardner, Lucien’s great grandson. The reference to the case is inappropriate and is not reflective of our family’s values. Please remove it. I can offer a quote from another less offensive case.
- Thank you Gardner.Robert (talk) 02:34, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hello Gradner.Robert, Good day. (1) to remove a sourced content is a vandalism act (2) you have a conflict of interest as you are related to Lucien D. Gardner which was the article you edit. You need to WP:DISCLOSE your coi on your user page and state it. Pls note Wikipedia is all about verification of independent, reliable source for it is a core policy of Wikipedia. Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Gardner.Robert. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Lucien D. Gardner, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Cassiopeia talk 02:46, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
