Are you "closely connectioned" with snap in any way?

[edit]

Have you made significant contributions to the snap ecosystem?

If so we may have a conflict of interest, and you should disclose it at least, if not avoid editing that article.

See for reference the article about liberapay, where i think this is handled ok. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zash 15 (talkcontribs) 22:27, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I would say I'm loosely connected to snap. I'm not a major contributor but I maintain some snap packages and I've made small contributions to the documentation and the snapcraft build tool. I'm not a Canonical employee, I don't have any financial ties to Canonical or Snap and I don't have any personal ties to the creators.
In the Librapay example, the editor is the creator of Librapay, which I see as a clear conflict of interest that warrants such a banner.
From the conflict of interest page: "Any external relationship—personal, religious, political, academic, legal, or financial (including holding a cryptocurrency)—can trigger a COI. How close the relationship needs to be before it becomes a concern on Wikipedia is governed by common sense." I have a relationship with Snap although it's none of the stated examples. In my opinion, my relationship with Snap is not close enough to warrant a conflict of interest banner. If you think it's required I could state on the talk page that I've contributed to it, but I'd like to hear what your thoughts are about it. Galgalesh (talk) 11:10, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is required , I don't mean to offend but your edits do seem biased for snap (as the COI document states it can be hard to remain objective), You don't need to put the banner but but saying it on the talk page is reasonable Zash 15 (talk) 16:52, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
