I can help
[edit]My help may be somewhat intermittent but with STS coming to a close, there will be a tremendous amount of interest in reading the Space Shuttle article. I do have a few suggestions to start off. Can you italicize your comments as well as bolding them? They are somewhat difficult to notice. Secondly, please can "Orbiter add-ons" be changed to "Returnable payloads"? I cringe every time I see that in the article. Best of luck. --Xession (talk) 15:25, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
Please CEACE AND DESIST
[edit]Please do not continue with this sandbox edit; it seems to be based on an inaccurate premise. The current Space Shuttle article is basically fine the way it is. Someone misguidedly converted the Space Transportation System page into a redirect to Space Shuttle Program, but if you look at the page now, you see this has been reverted.
The two topics are not the same, even though NASA chose (confusingly) to name the Shuttle program Space Transportation System. This originally referred to an ambitious program consisting of a system of several types of reusable spacecraft which would have essentially cost on the order of another Apollo program to develop, but President Nixon and the Congress essentially squelched that idea, and only the Shuttle survived.
If you want to explain this in the article, fine; but please remove the wording in the intro paragraph which implies that "Space Transportation System" is the same thing as the shuttle, and change the infobox title back to "Space Shuttle". Thank you. JustinTime55 (talk) 21:51, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
Sorry if I came on a little too strong above, but I feel strongly about not promulgating what I perceive as a misunderstanding about the STS topic. (I'm in the process of fixing the mistaken references to the STS article, and that's where I came across your sandbox.) I went ahead and made the changes to your version that I mentioned in the last paragraph. JustinTime55 (talk) 15:46, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
