- @GalacticPediaNerd Please do not undo reviewers declines of drafts. Let me know here if you have any questions. Qcne (talk) 10:51, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- Dear Qcne,
- Ah, I see you have taken it upon yourself to remind me of the sacred Wikipedia doctrine. Let me just take a moment to light a candle and reflect upon the grave misdeed of… gasp… undoing a decline! Truly, history will remember this day. Perhaps future generations of Wikipedians will recount it as “The Great Undoing of 2024.”
- First, let me address the obvious. You’re absolutely right: the process must be protected at all costs. The cosmic balance of the Wiki-verse must not be disrupted by the reckless click of an "undo" button. What’s next? Cats editing Wikipedia pages? Dogs writing articles about quantum physics? Clearly, I have endangered not only the integrity of the draft system but potentially the very fabric of reality. Somewhere in the multiverse, an alternate version of me is crying in shame.
- I now realize the heavy burden that rests upon the shoulders of the Wikipedia reviewer, a position that is not only revered but practically mythological. The way I see it, your message wasn’t just a simple request, but a coded prophecy sent from the hallowed halls of Wikipedia HQ, warning me against playing fast and loose with the buttons that wield unimaginable power. But let’s be honest here: with great power comes great responsibility, and clearly, I was not ready for the awesome responsibility of UNDOING. I mean, the sheer audacity of my action! My mouse-hand trembles even now, knowing the chaos it might unleash.
- Now, I do have a question, since you generously offered to answer any. Should I, in the future, practice some sort of ritual before approaching the “undo” button? Perhaps kneel before the monitor, mutter an incantation, or maybe sacrifice a cup of coffee to the Wiki gods? I’d hate to anger them again. I hear they can be quite unforgiving. - Hello @GalacticPediaNerd.
- I wonder if you have misunderstood the Articles for Creation process which you submitted your draft Draft:LinkLevi through.
- The AfC process allows new editors to submit drafts for review by more experienced editors, such as me. Reviewers will either accept a draft, decline for improvement, or reject if it not suitable for the encyclopaedia.
- Your draft which you submitted for review contains no sources, and therefore immediately fails Wikipedia's core policy of verifiability. We cannot accept articles with no sources, so I declined it.
- You undid my decline, resubmitting it back into the review queue where it would have been immediately declined by another reviewer for having no sources. I undid that reversion, and you undid that and removed the submission code which would have left the draft languishing in draftspace for the next 6 months until automatically deleted.
- If you have any questions about your draft and the AfC process please let me know.
- Best, Qcne (talk) 11:38, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- It does occur to me, @GalacticPediaNerd, that perhaps your second undo - removing the AfC code - was to allow you to work on the draft and re-submit it at a later date. If so, my apologies if that was your intention. We like to keep previous decline notices on drafts but you are more than welcome to continue to improve a declined unsubmitted draft before re-submitting it for review.
