List of tools for static code analysis
[edit]Hi. Please stop adding links to external tools on this list. In order for a tool to show up on that list page, it is supposed to have its own article on Wikipedia. Links to external sites is considered linkspam and is not allowed. Thanks. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 04:11, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, what fun, the first comment on my talk page. The above comment was in response to my adding exactly two links to this "List of tools" page: cpplint, the FOSS C++ style checker used by all Google Code projects using C++, and pylint, which is well known. I added them in an effort to be helpful, but I don't care enough about Wikpedia to argue with HelloAnnyong or to write Wikipedia articles about these subjects when Google is able to quickly reveal primary sources of information. The policy being enforced does seem opposite to Wikipedia's usual approach that Wikipedia itself is a secondary reference, and that for a subject to be notable, there should be external articles about it, and HelloAnnyong's interpretation of the Wikipedia's definition of linkspam seems odd. --Gahs (talk) 20:49, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

The article Pure (programming language) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No outside reliable and verifiable sources given to establish notability
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Yaksar (let's chat) 20:52, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
