Akpet Central is a town in Cross River State Southern Nigeria, it is the Headquarter of Biase Local Government Area. It has a latitude of 5° 37' 15" N - 5° 62' 10" S and a longitude of 8° 6' 5" E - 8° 10' 16" E · Cross River's capital Calabar (Calabar) is approximately 77 km / 48 mi away from Akpet Central.

The Town is Populated by the Akept People.

Akpet Central is one of the Town that constitute the Akpet People as it is the Origin of other Akpet Villages such as Ibogo, Umai, Akparavuni and Ukwop Eyere. It spoken Language is Ukpet but ancient People from Akpet often speak Efik as the second Language. Akpet Central is been administered and controlled by the Atte Obhort of Akpet Central who is the Clan Head/Chief of Akpet Central and the Chief of Akpet Kingdom.
