Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Gabeman15, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Gabriel Fowler, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Gabriel Fowler requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Being "a rising film, theater, and television director, actor, writer, and producer" isn't sufficient. A person doesn't get a Wikipedia article for being up-and-coming. You must have already arrived. See WP:NACTOR for inclusion criteria. ~Amatulić (talk) 07:00, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --Peter Sam Fan 02:24, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Art Less (TV series)

[edit]

The article Art Less (TV series) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I see no coverage online in reliable sources and WP:FUTURE applies, so I don't see that this meets the general notability guidelines or web notability guidelines.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —Largo Plazo (talk) 19:47, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Creating autobiographies

[edit]

Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. —Largo Plazo (talk) 19:53, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Editing with a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Gabeman15. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. —Largo Plazo (talk) 19:53, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of The Sniper (short film)

[edit]

Hello Gabeman15,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The Sniper (short film) for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. MainlyTwelve (talk) 02:50, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove speedy deletion notices from pages you created yourself, as you did at Art Less (TV series), you may be blocked from editing. —Largo Plazo (talk) 02:56, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 07:07, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've blocked you because it looks like you are only here to write about yourself and your productions. You've already had some warning that adding these articles would be inappropriate, given that Gabriel Fowler was deleted twice in January and you re-created it three more times, twice under Gabriel J. Fowler after the original article was salted to prevent recreation. You were specifically warned about creating an autobiography here (there was also a warning about editing with a conflict of interest), yet you ignored this in favor of the the final attempt at creating an autobiography. There's no way that you could have not been aware that Wikipedia heavily frowns upon this. You then went on to create pages for various projects that you're working on,none of which seem to pass notability guidelines on Wikipedia. I'm aware that it's difficult for indie productions and people to gain coverage and that the guidelines on here make it so less than 1% can have an article on Wikipedia, but this is still a requirement and it's here out of necessity.
You might be able to be unblocked but you'd have the following requirements:
  1. You will not write about yourself on Wikipedia or attempt to reinsert the information on Wikipedia.
  2. You will need to show that you understand the reasons for your block.
  3. You will need to give us an example of how you'd edit if you were unblocked.
I need to warn you, if you are unblocked and you continue to try to edit on yourself, this will lead to a reblocking with little to no chance of an unblock. Wikipedia is not a place to promote yourself or your works. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 07:15, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
