Beau Bridges tweet
So your argument for exclusion of his death is based off the news using Boothe's friend's tweet as their source? Isn't that just another way for these sources to get that information? Perhaps then we should exclude all deaths since they're using one persons saying so as a source. Rusted AutoParts 02:40, 15 May 2017 (UTC)
- It's based off the fact that Beau Bridges tweeted it five hours ago and that's still the only known source. Don't twist my words around. GSK (t • c) 02:43, 15 May 2017 (UTC)
- Right. That's how news spreads round. And what's there to twist from "therefore not reliable". He's a family friend confirming his friend's death. Isn't that how news gets announced, someone close to the deceased breaks the news? Like Kevin Smith with Michael Parks a few days ago? Rusted AutoParts 02:52, 15 May 2017 (UTC)
- Per your edit summary, where exactly did I threaten you? Maybe you should take another look at WP:NPA. You took a pretty hostile tone with me out of nowhere, especially considering I haven't done a damn thing to you, and I don't appreciate it. GSK (t • c) 02:52, 15 May 2017 (UTC)
- You say hostile, I say curiously annoyed. However you choose to read into my words, can't stop you doing that. But I wasn't being hostile. Im just baffled that when article point to a source of informations it gets more scrutiny simply because it was a social media post. One from a family friend of the deceased. - Butting in uninvited, but WP:BLPSPS and WP:BLPSELFPUB (both of which are policy) are very clear that tweets or posts from a subject regarding someone else are never to be used. --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:59, 15 May 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for this. I was trying to find the correct policy last night, but wasn't able to. GSK (t • c) 03:32, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
