No problem about that mediation cabal thingie. Feel free to ask me questions on my talk page. Mak (talk) 00:11, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Hello. No hard feelings about raising an issue about "ruthless" RobotG: if you perceive damage to Wikipedia you are right to try to do something about it, and I applaud the urgency with which you did so. RobotG is indeed ruthless, but I am therefore careful not to let it off my leash! If you need any help then my talk page is always open (although I'm not always at home): just drop me a note. Best wishes. --RobertG ♬ talk 08:57, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Santa planet.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Santa planet.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
PLEASE NOTE:
- I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
- I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
- If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.
- To opt out of these bot messages, add
{{bots|deny=DASHBot}}

Non-free rationale for File:Santa planet.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Santa planet.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 23:57, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of GlobalSecurity.org
[edit]The article GlobalSecurity.org has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- This is not an encyclopedic article. It may be a request, but requests do not belong in article space.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:55, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
- If you want to make a request, make a request on a Wikipedia project page. Please do not put requests, especially strident requests, in article space. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:57, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as GlobalSecurity.org, to Wikipedia, as doing so is not in accordance with our policies. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Wikipedia:Your first article; you might also consider using the Article Wizard. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Your use of article space to make a request for translation was a misuse of article space. Since you said, very stridently, not to delete the request, when it needed deleting, because it was a misuse of article space, I did you a favor and only proposed deletion. However, not all editors are as patient with disruptive requests. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:38, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
- See https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Translation#Requesting_a_translation_from_a_foreign_language_to_English for how to request a translation from another language, such as German, into English. In this case, first create a stub and then include the template. In general, stating loudly, "Do not delete this" isn't useful. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:47, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
- There is certainly a misunderstanding here, and it is yours, GPS Pilot. You did not create an article, you created a request in article space, containing your own views on whether the article was notable or not. This is not a way to request a translation. Please read Wikipedia:Translation for further instructions. Robert explained this clearly to you in his initial advice. Deb (talk) 14:28, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
- Listen carefully. YOU DID NOT CREATE AN ARTICLE. Deb (talk) 17:02, 25 December 2016 (UTC)
- User:GPS Pilot - On the one hand, you started out trying to make a reasonable request, and did it in a mistaken good-faith manner. However, then, when your request was deleted, you became a loud nuisance by reposting a request saying not to delete it. At this point, you have used up a considerable amount of the good faith that you would have had with your request for translation. My advice to you at this point is to go to the Teahouse and request assistance. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:55, 25 December 2016 (UTC)

Your message
[edit]This is getting very tedious. You claim to be an experienced contributor but you have made a total of 220 edits in your eleven years here - and that's counting the ones that have been deleted. It's been explained to you multiple times that you don't create a request for translation in article space. The instructions which you've been referred to clearly state that you should "create the article on English Wikipedia as a stub article, explaining or defining the subject of the article in a sentence or two ". You did not do this. Instead you created a request in article space that should have gone in Wikipedia:Requested articles. Maybe these instructions are complicated, but you will have to master them if you are ever going to make a significant contribution to this encyclopedia. Deb (talk) 12:10, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
Your message
[edit]You say "::What I find complicated is that you quote this portion of WP:TRANSLATETOHERE -- "create the article on English Wikipedia as a stub article" -- and then you go on to complain about how I created a request for translation in article space. Perhaps you are conflating the two approved methods of requesting a translation. GPS Pilot (talk) 22:15, 12 March 2017 (UTC)" Just try and concentrate your mind on the highlighted words for a moment. A request for translation is not the same as a stub article. You created a request for translation without creating a stub article. You just put the word "stub" under your request. That was your mistake. Deb (talk) 07:35, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
