I am the person formerly known as GFOLLC. This is just a quick note to acknowledge your actions, and to help you bring things to a close. I realize that this very note may be yet another improperly formatted edit, but at this point I'm so confused I don't know what I can, and cannot do. I apologize for my mistakes; I have been struggling at learning how to correctly edit and I admit, I am completely lost at this point.

Specifically addressing my user name, GFOLLC :it is true that I am a partner in a business called GFO LLC. On the other hand, I use that ID for everything, even my Netflix account, until just now. Its just a habit of mine. Go ahead and terminate it.

My work on Wikipedia was at the request of the artist, who has concerns about the accuracy and completeness of the Wikipedia article about him. My intention was to resolve that. I was being earnest in my efforts. It was my understanding, from a number of sources in my industry, that one could edit pages about releases in our catalogue, or articles about your person or organization, as long as the edits were not promotional. My work was meant to correct misinformation, or to improve accuracy of pre-existing information. I also made edits based upon recommendations given to me by you guys. None of it was intended to be promotional.

Ultimately, I don't have anything of value to offer Wikipedia beyond the corrections I was attempting to implement. I spent many hours on those edits, and they were deleted in an instant. That kind of thing has a way of crushing a person's spirit. So, go ahead and delete GFOLLC. I have updated the artist about what has transpired. He will be in touch about future edits.

Thank you for your patience. (142.197.201.3 (talk) 21:14, 26 March 2018 (UTC))[reply]

Conflict of Interest

[edit]

Hi, please read WP:COI because as the owner of the record label it is recommended that you do not write articles or add content on your own products and artists. Instead you should suggest edits on the artist's talk page. Articles added by an affiliated editor are much more likely to be tagged and deleted. Also, using a company name is prohibited as a username so your account will likely be blocked, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 11:05, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. Thank you. -- Ed (Edgar181) 13:12, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
