I cannot see how this is promotional, since it is about a gallery that has been closed - does not exist- for more than six (6) years. The article is meant to be a stub to let people know what it was, why it was notable and why it got so much press, in its day, both art press and news coverage.Fvlcrvm (talk) 19:13, 5 September 2008 (UTC) (yes, my login name is taken from this gallery)[reply]

Since there is no company nor any product, I do not see how it is promotional. It is an historic account. BTW, if it were an open gallery, how would it be any different than Gagosian, Mary Boone, Saatchi Gallery, Charles Cowles Gallery or the many other galleries that have articles, photos of the art they sell, lists of the artists they represent, links to their websites and so on, in their articles; or stubs of existing galleries like ACE Gallery, Metro Pictures Gallery, Matthew Marks Gallery, White Columns & Sidney Janis; or Lance Fung Gallery which is also defunct?

I do not advocate deleting articles or stubs about any art gallery, in fact I would like to add more, especially of historic galleries that showed unusual or cutting edge art. But I do think that if one gallery stub or article is deleted, simply because it might be construed as promoting art, then all articles about every gallery should be deleted, which is absurd.

BTW Charles Cowles Gallery is being questioned for "notability", which is also patently absurd. Cowles founded & was publisher of Artforum Magazine & has been a major force in the artworld for more years than I can count. You really need to get some editors that actually know something about the artworld, to make decisions about these articles.Fvlcrvm (talk) 19:49, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see that the Fvlcrvm article was DELETED by User talk:orangemike(talk|contribs)without ANYONE even responding or allowing any discussion on the subject at all. I have a lot to say about that, & intend to do so! 99.153.142.132 (talk) 13:40, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I wish to appeal the deletion. This article cannot possibly be "blatant advertising" since it is a HISTORICAL article about a gallery that has NOT EXISTED for over six years & is NOT IN EXISTANCE now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fvlcrvm (talkcontribs) 14:35, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
