File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:KOKOLO 2010.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 15:40, 28 November 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 15:40, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Ray Lugo, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ray Lugo. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

hi gregjack. i have started to build a page on ray lugo, the leader of kokolo afrobeat orchestra. if you type ray lugo and kokolo in google there are many many refrences (BBC el pais, village voice) with this artist:producer as well as more indepth info on his productions, releases in the genres of ska, funk, afrobeat; please advise how to get this delete thing removed

Is your blanking of the page an indication that it can be deleted? CTJF83 GoUSA 01:45, 25 February 2010 (UTC)yes, my mistake. still learning the editing protocols etc. thanks(FunkyNYC (talk) 18:37, 25 February 2010 (UTC))[reply]

The recent edit you made to Ray Lugo constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to remove content from articles without explanation. Thank you. Alansohn (talk) 02:41, 25 February 2010 (UTC)thanks. will do(FunkyNYC (talk) 18:37, 25 February 2010 (UTC))[reply]

hi everyone. i am starting to build this page and it is taking me a little bit of time to find the references etc. unfortunately before i even got the chance to reference the content it is being marked for deletion. apologies for any inconvenience but please understand i am just starting out on these kinds of things

If you are still working on the article, you may want to consider going to the AfD Discussion page for the article and requesting to move the article to your user space (see WP:USERFY) so you have time to work it up. If you do that, you will still need to establish notability, you will probably want to review WP:MUSIC, WP:GNG, and WP:SOURCES. Also, when you make a comment, remember to sign it by typing (~~~~) at the end. Good luck. (GregJackP (talk) 15:08, 25 February 2010 (UTC))thanks. will try to figure it out. regarding notability, this individual has been a key figure in underground world music in the u.s.. not saying the person is einstein exactly but there are thousands of references to his work and impact on the genres of afrobeat and its current revival(FunkyNYC (talk) 18:37, 25 February 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:The Magnificent Seven Edit.ogg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Ray Lugo

[edit]

Hi it is unreviewed at present. I unreviewed it due to this earwig copyvio tool result here. I didn't speedy it because the discogs source is unreliable so they may have copied it from earlier version on Wikipedia but it might be best if you changed the earwig red wording, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 17:06, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Ray Lugo

[edit]

Hi, I'm Atlantic306. FunkyNYC, thanks for creating Ray Lugo!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Hi, thanks for addressing the cpyv concern, can you add some extra references such as for the early life section which is unreferenced. Thanks for adding good content to Wikipedia.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ray Lugo, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Kingston and San Juan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
