I need someone to explain to me or give me direction on how to create this page, context and all, without it sounding like blatent advertising. That is not its intention. I looked at sites like Starbucks and Pinkberry and those sites were not tagged for deletion yet they talk about the specific like and especially Pinkberry, offer information on nutrition and flavors. I'm starting to believe that because this site was deleted before, it is getting deleted faster and without regard to the edits that are being made to the site in order for it to pass "inspection". I need explanation as to why or I will continue to try to load the site. Any help would be greatly appreciated. --FroYoNut (talk) 21:21, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For a start - don't sound like a sales pitch. Avoid 'we'. Be factual, not enthusiastic. Your product may be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but here is a place for information not selling. Ideally, articles should be 'about', not 'by'. and, you must show notability. Starbucks are international. You don't have to be that, but you must show that more than one town (pop. 300 and a dog) benefits from your product. But above all - be factual. Peridon (talk) 22:00, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that there is no "we" in the document... the document is factual... no, OrangeCup isn't international but it does benefit a LARGE population of Dallas and San Antonio and is expanding. It's just a small company growing hence there not being a lot of information out there on it yet... which is why I'm creating the page... to help drive more people to learn about it... since I myself love it. If you can be specific as to what EXACTLY is not factual or is "enthusiastic" that would help a ton! Thank you for ANY advice that will help me edit the page so that it's not deleted. --FroYoNut (talk) 23:02, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your article

[edit]

Hi, FroYoNut. I had to delete your article. It was way too much like an advertisement. If you want to work on it, you're welcome to, but can you do it on your own computer for the moment? When you have it in a state where it's far more objective, then you can post it. - Richard Cavell (talk) 03:50, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I've read your message on my talk page. I've emailed the text of the article to you. I would suggest that you look at WP:VSCA and start clicking on the links there. If you're involved with a company yourself, it's unlikely that you can be objective about it, so you probably shouldn't edit an article that you're personally involved with. The people who objected to the article thought that it read like an ad, and they were also concerned about notability. - Richard Cavell (talk) 19:30, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of OrangeCup

[edit]

A tag has been placed on OrangeCup, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 23:29, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
