Greetings. I replied on my talk page, but that page gets so much traffic that I've already archived my reply. You can read it at User_talk:Quadell/Archive 31#William_Poundstone_picture_deletion. All the best, – Quadell (talk) (random) 11:06, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey dude, i know, that jackass is out of control, he deletes shit as long as he doesnt see 1 of 10 different tags and approvals on each image information page. Im tired of his shit, all the images i upload, i've made, taken personally, or asked for specific permission from people who have made the images. Whatever, he'll get his. Hi. I thought you might be interested in the answer to your question (below). Thanks. (Joseph A. Spadaro 06:46, 15 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

From Talk: Half Nelson (film):

Why is the film so titled? Thanks. (JosephASpadaro 09:26, 11 March 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Ha, Spadaro beat me to the same question I had. Whyever is it so titled? --Frenkmelk talk 19:50, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A "half nelson" is a wrestling move – a hold in which a wrestler, from behind the opponent, passes one arm under the corresponding arm of the opponent and locks the hand on the back of the opponent's neck. When you are in a half nelson, it is hard to breathe and you feel completely helpless, and the film's title is a metaphor in relation to this. The main character (Dan) can't escape his addiction, in the same way that it is very difficult to escape from a half nelson. However, although it's very difficult to get out of a half nelson, it doesn't necessarily mean that you're about to lose the wrestling match. In this film, it metaphorically means that the main characters Dan and Drey are both in difficult situations – ones that are difficult to escape, but ones that they might possibly escape. (Joseph A. nice to get a personal response from a fellow wikipedian! This environment can be so cold, automated, and unforgiving, I am grateful that you took the time to respond directly to one of my orphaned queries! I have run into some real unpleasant peoples on here, and that is not what the Wiki is about. Regards! --Frenkmelk talk 17:29, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Not a problem at all ... you're welcome. I too have run into some unpleasant folk around these parts ... but, at the same time, I have run into some wonderful, intelligent, helpful folk as well. As far as Half Nelson (film) ... I finally got a chance to watch it last night. Having done so, I was determined to find out the meaning behind the title. So, I figured that you also would be curious as to what I found out about that. I thought it was a great film, by the way. Take care ... (Joseph A. Spadaro 03:57, 16 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:50, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
