{{unblock|I have absolutely no idea why my account was blocked. My only semi-regular contribution is to add ratings data to television shows. I would like to be unblocked and provided the reason why I was blocked in the first place, so I can avoid having this happen again.}}

I don't see a block in place and the toolserver isn't responding so I cannot check myself for autoblocks. I suspect that your IP has been autoblocked, which is a block that happens usually when we block another named account editing from your same IP. The software automatically blocks the IP to keep the accountholder from coming back as the IP and continuing the behavior that got them blocked.
Can you copy what you see when you try to edit, and paste it here? It may give us the information we need to release the block. Thanks! Syrthiss (talk) 20:00, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is what I see when I try to edit:

You are currently unable to edit pages on Wikipedia. You can still read pages, but you cannot edit, change, or create them. Editing from 69.117.0.0/19 has been disabled by Hersfold for the following reason(s): CheckUser evidence has determined that this IP address (or network) has been used abusively. This address (or network) has been blocked temporarily or permanently to prevent further abuse. In extreme cases, an entire network may be blocked to prevent an abusive user from continually changing their IP address in order to evade blocks or abusing multiple accounts. If you are a registered user and are seeing this message, please follow these instructions. Administrators: CheckUsers are privy to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy, and therefore must be consulted before this block can be removed. Users: If you already have an account in good standing, you may request IP block exemption to bypass this block. Post an unblock request to your user talk page.

Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Jessica Liao - now a hard block. If trying to edit from this range, please contact a Checkuser for assistance

This block has been set to expire: 04:41, 1 March 2010. Even if blocked, you will usually still be able to edit your user talk page and contact other editors and administrators by e-mail. Note: Please use the [show] links across from each header to show more information.

Thanks for the help.

Looking into this, I'm the one who placed the block. Hersfold (t/a/c) 00:20, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption.

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

IPBE removed

[edit]

Hello, FregTK. Some time ago, I granted you an IP Block Exemption to allow you to continue editing despite a block on your ISP. That block has since expired, and a check of your account shows that you should not have any difficulty editing. According to standard procedures with regard to this flag, I have removed the exemption from your account. If you should encounter any further difficulties in editing, please let me know or follow the instructions provided to you in your block message. Happy editing!
